Motherwell v Celtic

I think that’s a better starting team anyway. Hopefully we can see an improved McGregor with Iwata in there too.

Would like to see Kuhn making positive runs too.

Scales was beaten all ends up there. A VAR reprieve though.

Yeah looked off but Scales did nothing to keep him wide.

Both of their chances have come from Celtic cheaply giving the ball away & then one ball down the side of the centre backs from inside their own half has them running into our box one on one. If you’re not going to pass the ball accurately then playing a high line with slow centre backs isn’t a good recipe.

A worrying start, being kind

This is an appalling performance so far. Can’t get any passing going.

Does the lad from Tyrone still knock about here?

Was listening to a podcast last night and it said celtic were way better away as the toxic atmosphere at celtic park means players play conservatively

So far based on this, i think they lied

Woeful stuff

Taylor has played the same ball over the top to nobody about 5 times !

Great goal by them & it’s not undeserved.

Smashing goal

Great strike.
Think we improved a little as the game has gone on but they’ve looked more dangerous. It’s all very incoherent.

He is absolute muck. Never good enough and a hun

Big trouble here.

The defence is as bad as ever. Scales is all over the place. Nawrocki slightly more comfortable. A few nervous passes at the start but in general has used it better. Taylor giving it away constantly. Johnston put in one great cross but is tentative and his touch has been poor.

Kuhn won’t take them on and isn’t pressing them at all when they have the ball. Maeda had some loose moments but at least has robbed them a few times and has brought energy.

Midfield three aren’t really involved enough at all. They’re very static. We had a reasonable spell where they got more involved but no driving runs off the ball and other than one McGregor pass it’s all too safe.

Kyogo doesn’t look sharp at all. Second to a few passes and not really buzzing about as you’d expect.

Dying of a hangover and I think that performance is just as painful. Someone needs to rip the band aid off, sack Rodgers and get someone else in. Bar a miracle Celtic are not winning this match, are certainly not winning the league and clearly the players are not playing for the manager, primarily I think because of his tactics. I know the board are complicit in the malaise but ffs this is Motherwell not Manchester City. They can’t seem to take throws even…

Scales, much as he is admirable, is like a courtesy car.
Perhaps I’m being harsh as the back 4 seems to be a moveable feast.
George Graham had one thing right. You build a team from the back.
Rogers must be angling for the payout. He’s taken a championship team playing fantastic football and within a few months turned them into a conservative boring and ineffective one.

I don’t want to contemplate the huns winning the league but this is a malaise.

No conviction in attack or defence. It’s slow, ponderous, uncertain. A real lack of bravery & leadership too.

You could replace most of them at half time & there’ll surely be a couple of changes at least.

McGregor got done by the kid Miller for the goal & has been way off it again. O’Riley’s form has fallen off a cliff since the turn of the year. Scales has been a car crash. Taylor’s distribution woeful. Kuhn doesn’t seem to have any drive or intent. Not to come across all Ray Houghton but he doesn’t appear to have an idea in his head of what he’s doing to do when he receives the ball & it’s usually a tentative touch & back to his full back. Barely any hint of the explosive pace that was touted when he signed.

Still holding out a tiny bit of hope that something will click & we’ll escape with a late, jammy win. At least make the huns earn it rather than collapsing ala the Covid season.

Idah for Kyogo is the only change.
