Came down the M50/N7/M7/M9 tonight on an essential journey. Crash on the M50 after junction 2 (Finglas) and one on the N7 just after Rathcoole. Added about 45 minutes to the journey.
But there was an absolute crackerjack of a crash on the other side of the M50 going north at Castleknock. Six car pile up in the fast Lane. I’d say there were people driving today who hadn’t driven a distance in 6 months or more.
Jaysus. Conditions couldn’t have been bad. Roads probably jammers though.
The 3 lanes and lads leaving it to last minute to get across to a junction causes a lot of those crashes on M50
Outrageous scenes on the M4&M6 today. (More fool me for travelling on a BH Friday but couldn’t be helped alas).
Undertaking, tailgating, lack of indication, lads doing 90kmph in the overtaking lane, lads doing 90mph in the slow lane, daft lane changing decisions and manoeuvres. My personal favourite was the lady in the SUV towing the caravan who mistook the kinnegad exit for the Galway exit, realised at the last minute and slalomed across the hatch markings back onto the motorway doing about 60kmph.
All in all tis a wonder I’m alive at all, thank God we were all going the one way…

Conditions were perfect
There was a load of logs and tire marks near the Limerick/cork boarder by charlaville. Did a truck shed its load?
There was also a breakdown on the M1/M50 interchange. I didn’t notice the Castleknock prang. What time was that at?

A new one for me today. Mrs Mac was overtaking a car on the M11 between Enniscorthy and Gorey tipping along at around 125-130 I’d say and some hero undertakes both of the cars in the hard shoulder easily doing about 160-170. He was in a 211 Focus. After we pull back into the inside lane another 211 Focus speeds past us and the 2 of them continue on playing some sort of cat and mouse game. Fuckin idiots

No, they were gone too quickly. I thought I had the first one and then the 2nd one distracted me. I was also distracted by trying to get live coverage of the Derby on my phone
