Cowboy assessment.
Drive it every week, some dose. 14km at 60km/ph though it does move relatively well
Why in the name of fuck were the allowed to close such a long stretch. Could they not have done it a junction at a time. Would have taken longer probably but the disruption would have been much less. They never work weekends on it or evenings. It must be lovely job for the fellas doing it.
It does, until it doesn’t. Was an hour moving between 7 & 9 there about a month ago.
Oooft! Didn’t experience that but would well believe it. 30 mins tops normally. Try to hit Newbridge for around 9am and by that stage most of the heavy traffic is gone.
Ya, I got delayed in a meeting and hit the worst of it coming back. I actually don’t know how lads do it everyday.
I bet they have seven tea breaks a day written into the contract though.
The Oirish are fierce backward when it comes to building roads. All the good lads went to England cc @Tassotti
Never anyone working on it before 8.30am and always long deserted stretches of roadworks with only a few lads working on one bit at a time. Kildare coco were still saying April on the radio up until about 3 weeks ago. Incompetent Cunts.
Yes I was going southbound one Saturday morning recently and there was some cunt in a Mercedes who broke down more or less at the M9 junction blocking one lane and the traffic was tailed back to and inching along from Naas North. Added the guts of an hour to the journey.

You’d think they could put a push on and get the part closest to Dublin finished in the next few weeks at least. That part where they are adding a new junction is nowhere near finished.
That bit is as near to finished as can be and hasnt been worked on for ages. As I’ve said before, whoever did the newlands cross flyover was superb. Massive disruption but it didn’t greatly affect journey times and finished rrlatively quickly. This N7 shit is appalling.
When it is finished it will definitely improve things obviously at rush hour around J9 and J10. But with more people deciding to drive with a mindset that the M7 is class now, the queue coming up to the Red Cow in the mornings with cars trying to get on to the M50 is only going to get longer and longer. Ditto in the evenings for ramps from the m50 back up to the N7.
I go cross country to work to avoid it these days. On bad days taking the M7/N7 you’d be looking at 2 hours door to door. Have it down to about a consistent 1hr15 going the other way. In no traffic using the motorway it’s about 45 minutes.
Agreed. You don’t fix traffic issues. You just move the bottleneck. I think eastbound in morning Red Cow will become a disaster.
Also, to the best of my knowledge even when these new lanes are open I believe they’ll remain 60kmph until the new exit at Osberstown is completed in “October”.
The only cunts doing anything on that road are the lads in the speed vans. Making a fortune from fines so that’s why they’re in no rush.
6257 prosecutions to date the last time I drove through
Latest figures from TII show more than 13,700 fines issued since the roadworks began.
