Not as good as a Wexford home hurling league game, but a decent size all the same.
You must consider the Limerick bandwagoners would have used a lot of the bandwagoning tokens going to hurling games this year. They are probably burnt out from it as well. Itâs pretty difficult to maintain dual band wagoning in fairness. Not like the early 90âs when watching Tipp and Cork hurling up a storm seemed to go hand in hand with the World Cup[/quote]
I think it drew 23k last year and the same fixture would have been sold out in previous years. Pretty poor attendance for the single biggest league game of the season excluding knockout stages.

I think itâs seen as a poor crowd because it is a two thirds full crowd in a stadium that needs a lot of paying for and it was one of the few marquee fixtures in the year. Comparing it to a Wexford home game is a bit dumb.

Nice to see Kev admit Cork fans are bandwagoners.
My take on rugby is it is a day out for lads - if their team lose it doesnât darken their mood and destroy their weekend the way a GAA or soccer team does for lads who follow those sports.
My oul lad is a GAA man so when Ireland played France in the rugby in Croke Park for the first time I brought him along as it was an historic occasion etc.
he stood for the french anthem and he stood and sang Amhran na bhFiann - he sat down as soon as Irelandâs Call started. I sat down too. Heâd be of a generation that I have only ever spoke to him about sports and never had a proper conversation with him but it was a nice father and son moment.
