By the by, Boujadell, the Toulon president has said Toulon will play in the ERC competition going forward and will not play in th proposed breakaway cup. No doubt this is serving only their own agenda but still a significant first splinter between French and English clubs. Iâd say that UUCOAM Nigel wray is fair sickened. Doubly so with Saracens to all intents and purposes out of the cup. Prick[/quote]
Interesting. Very interesting. I could see Toulouse going the same way given how seriously they take European competition. If that happens the English clubs will be on their own and forced to fall in line.
Saracens going down last night after struggling against Connacht the week before was great stuff. The guy who runs Gloucester is an utter prick too (google him-heâs Tom Walkinshawâs son) so Iâm looking forward to their beating tonight.
but if he is bringing over a second XV it clearly looks like he dosent give a fuck about the match, if i was a fan it would slightly devalue the occasion if they are using it merely as a training match and see it as a good opportunity to rest their players.
from the outside looking in it really seems to me that the only people taking this seriously are the irish franchises, the 2 scottish teams, Toulouse and of course Sky Sports.
Are the french champions also sending over a nothing outfit to Dublin?
thanks, thinking of having a punt
Friend of the forum and respected rugby expert Gerry Thornely advised me on OTBâs Wednesday night rugby podcast that French sides generally just dont expect to win games away from home, especially in europe and also in the âTop Quatorzeâ as Gerry loves to emphasize when waxing lyrical with Fester ( keith wood), hence they take weakened sides with a defensice, damage limitation mindset ( Toulouse, Gerry stressed being the exception)

Clermont and Toulon take it pretty seriously as well, as we saw over the last couple of years. So thatâs the three best French, the Irish, the scots and Englandâs favourites Saracens, who rested about 10 of their team before taking on Connacht last week.
This fucking video replay thing has got out of hand. At least five minutes there in the Cardiff game to help referee JP (who sounds like one of Alvin and the Chipmunks) decide if a penalty should be awarded.
Its farcical that Gloucester can be allowed field a second string team against Munster. Munster have dodged a bullet as they were was a distinct air from Penneyâs post match comments last week that heâs lost the dressing room.
