Munster Rugby - We DID start the fire (Part 1)

Munster actually have some serious talent between the 17-23 bracket at the moment. Problem is they’ve a donkey as a coach and absolutely nothing at ten. If say Munster had sexton and pat lam at the helm that squad would be really competitive. Problem going forward is they’ll likely lose 3 or 4 to France before they get any money together to really invest.

The entire coaching team, the chief exec and the 10 have to be replaced. That’s the starting point.

They should consider sacking the bus driver as well, Gordon Strachan swore by it.

They’re not that far off having a good team. They need a 10, a tighthead, probably a hooker, and a change of coach or backs/attack coach. Hanrahan will probably tell them get to fuck but they should do their best to get him back. They should do their best to get Moore or Furlong off Leinster -this would make a lot of sense from an Irish perspective. They should have got Sean Cronin back long ago but that ship has probably sailed. The rest of the team is as good as any other team in the domestic league (if POM and Foley are back fit).

If Foley gets another season surely one of their ex players like Howlett or Tipoki would be an addition as a backs/attack coach. Or Stringer if he’s ready to quit playing. Kidney and Eddie O’Sullivan are doing fuck all. Jim Williams is an experienced coach now too. There’s surely someone with a connection to the club that won’t completely break the bank.

Fuck up, you stupid cunt.

Good point.

Surely all it needs is someone to build a motorway from Limerick to Cork.

Head Coach is an issue. No good cop to his bad cop routine. Rest of staff are good generally if quite inexperienced in areas.

Dunno about that, kev. What qualities do Mick O’Driscoll and Jerry Flannery bring to the table?

They could call it the “Munsterway” to allude to the Millions of journeys that are made every year by the Doctors of Cork to support the Dockers of Limerick. It could be numbered the M78 then in recognition of Munsters victory over the all blacks.

MOD is a technical coach and has a great brain for remembering line outs/opposition traits etc.

I think Flannery was too inexperienced for that role to be honest.

Its just a whole lot of inexperience at once and too many mates, which ends up with yes men. Too many guys from same era. Aport moves now at a rate of knots and you have to be adjustable.

Its hard to imagine Foley allowing guys growth as coaches. But that should not mean they are thriwn by the wayside or all thrown under the bus together.

This is why Foley is not a good leader.
• Already talking about walking away - Shows hes not in for fight. Players ouck up on that.
• Saying its all about results and not about people. Its ALL about people.
• Furthering the pressure on the next game, indicating they need the fans. Its a 2-way street. Fans back fighters. His language and the players performance lack fight. He cannot expect the fans to sort that.

Dead man walking IMO. Philosophically at least. They will still lengthen his contract as replacements are expensive.

Quinlan calling for Kidney back to settle the ship in todays indo

Makes more sense than the mong who suggested Eddie O Sullivan earlier here. O Sullivan and Foley working together, fuck sake

I dont think Kidney would take the gig. Hasnt he got a nice number in UCC now?

Its all fucked up from a Munster perspective now.

I think respect for Foley is non existent among players.

There is now a real possibility of not qualifying for Europe
Its not just a change if manager needed. Another sugardaddy from Martinstown is also needed

He does and going back a 2nd time would be a mistake.

Foley didn’t help himself with that email way back when but its too easy to simply blame him. The funds aren’t there and the quality is lacking as a result.

The game has changed yo.

They might bring in O’Sullivan until the end of the season.
Hes the only one that would even consider touching it at moment.

Money? No fucking clue where its going to come from.
