It really is striking how difficult they seem to find the unexpected scenario of 80,000 people turning up for a game. Most elements of the organisation of it are significantly worse than Lansdowne Road and thatā€™s a fairly low bar to get over

Thats surprising to read. What exactly was the issue?
Iā€™ve never had a bad experience watching GAA thereā€¦but there would be a big difference in culture between GAA and Rubby fans. A lot of rubby fans are along for the social occasion and a few heinos and hotdogs. So Iā€™d imagine that gets messy with all the hanging around and constant in and outā€¦
Who the fuck eats food from any stadium? @jellyfish must only get out once a year the animal.

Very predictable that the Rubby set go blaming the venue when the event on the pitch turns out to be a bit of a damp squib.

Iā€™ve been to a load of GAA games there too and thereā€™s definitely a different flow. Firstly, with minor games etc you tend not to get most of your crowd arriving in the 30 mins before the game. The turnstiles seem undersized to get 80k in quickly so long queues etc. Then when youā€™re in there the food and drink facilities couldnā€™t deal with demand and there certainly seemed more from the rugby. I think again thatā€™s the difference between Sat evening games vs Sun afternoon along with the ā€œbring the sambosā€ impact. Maybe itā€™s because itā€™s only full for GAA about twice a year now. Either way because the food and drink effort is pretty poor youā€™ve little argument to make to fans to get in earlier to take pressure off your turnstiles. Massive queues for toilets too even before the game.

At least Munster were stuffed. Thatā€™s all that matters.

Game wasnā€™t much of a contest alright. Iā€™d say Cork lads are sick of the stadium at this stage

Would you get many pinting outside Faganā€™s and Kennedyā€™s before a rubby game?

The shame that @thelimericks feel because rubby will always be number 1 in their town is genuinely fascinating to watch :man_shrugging:

We were in the lower Cusack, had to queue a bit to get into the ground but thatā€™s fair enough with the big crowd. About 20 minutes into the game and I went out to the bathroom and checked some of the food places while I was out. The three I went to didnā€™t have any hot food for some reason. All fully staffed with youngsters but no food. Then the one place with anything has massive queues. Also massive queues for the toilets at halftime.

Itā€™s like they werenā€™t expecting a crowd, it was the same for the Northampton game.

Genuine question. But when the irfu or Leinster or however it works - book the stadium- do they have a say on staff and food, or is it a set price for full services? Is it the stadium/ GAA profiting from commercial activity within or are the rubby crowd taking a percentage?
Iā€™m sorry that you were poorly treated. From your post it appears someone is pulling a fast one.

I can understand not having services for those Munster animals but denying you civilized Leinster lads a bite of grub and a pint is shocking.

20 minutes into the hottest rivalry in world rugby and fellas out looking for a hot dog.

I caught a bit of it on the radio and you could hear spectators casually chatting the atmosphere was so deadā€¦ Iā€™d say Leinster and theyā€™re fans stopped after 20 mins
