Munster Rugby - We DID start the fire (Part 2)

If he is good enough he will get the jersey simple as

I think the headline around what he turned down is overblown. He will have taken what is effectively a tax free contract from Munster so 600k (it was never that much) from tigers is probably equivalent of 300k in Ireland …add in international bonuses, all the sponsorship opportunities he has in Ireland Vs the UK…I don’t know financially was it that hard a decision at all

Fair enough, I wouldn’t have an iota, but supposedly Finnis on a mill and he’d be the closest to Finn that wasn’t home made. Its probably never as good as it seems.

The two lads have a problem in that Jack is perceptibly quicker in every aspect whereas the other lad seems to just have absurd skills and ā€˜la pausa’ while not being a great athlete. I was convinced of the Leinster fella in November but I wouldn’t be just sure he has it athletically now, he’s 22 I don’t know will either one of them get on top of the other. Its what you prefer.

Finn is box office…I doubt he’s on a million either

Two very different players. Prendergast is quicker than he looks and is a far better kicker of the ball. He can’t defend though and he needs to figure that out. Saw an interview with ROG recently and he said if you don’t make the first tackle at ten youl be making plenty of them…and Crowley is a great defender and when push comes to shove that will make him the starter in medium term …unless Prendergast sorts it out

I’d just worry a small bit about him. Skills wise, he is godly, but how many tackles has he missed? He’s 22 and in the programme. I’m just struggling to thing of anyone that struggled that way originally and ever made up the deficit. I think he could be this imperious figure for Leinster and maybe a Charlie Hodgson type for Ireland, because there were massive shades of that to me this season.

His agent has earned his corn here. A couple of tweets and Munster buckle.

Prendy is a good lad, would like him to have got it.

Crowley has very poor distance on kicks to touch and is an inconsistent goalkicker. He’d benefit from a few coaching sessions with Maurice Fitzgerald

Crowls has called their bluff.

2 years leaves him an exit post-world cup. He’s dead right but feel that should have been trying to lock him down more long term. Not viewed in same regard in HQ

Makes perfect sense for the player. If he’s number one at the WC he’ll have to be on a central contract. If he’s rode again he’ll leave. Anything in between and they can negotiate.

It’s fantastic agenting. I do think he’ll be first choice OH in 2027 though so he’ll be on the Central. That’s not a slight against Prendergast but I think Crowley has gone up a notch in the last few months.

I think he’s well ahead of prendergast currently and should be being picked ahead of him. But prendergast has a lot of development to do and may well have overtaken him by then. They’ve both essentially had a season now so management should pick on form from here on out.

Prendergast will be much better off when he’s had a couple of seasons of being undisputed first choice at Leinster. Leopold did a bit too much wishy-washying headcoaching by persisting with the likes of Ross Byrne before Prender Jr emerged at U20’s. There’s also meant to be some Casper lad in the Leinster fold that is being touted as the real deal.

Casper will finish them all. Prendergast would be super in a Feile skills type scenario but he waddles in the manner of a mortally wounded duck. He needs to get on the gas, so does Sancho.

Steven Archer was never top tier but 300 appearances is a great achievement in a position that takes some toll on the body.

He was outstanding when he came on today playing a (I can scarcely believe I’m saying this) a playmaker role almost linking up the play in midfield

Some innings. He navigated well to remain in place that long and that many managerial setup changes

Nice guy, took a few training sessions when i was u20s. Remember him demonstrating how to seal off a ball and asked a few to try get him off the ball. He wasnt for moving.

Leinster shipping another pair of duds off to Munster.

Is it possible Munster have wiped Leinster’s eye with these two fellas I’ve never heard of in my life and they’re the next big things?
