What exactly happened?
Clare Clare
He took exception to Mick Ryan and Fanning running onto the pitch and celebrating with fist pumps and what not when Tipp were awarded a late free which Force subsequently put wide.
He gave Ryan a dunt of a shoulder when Podge levelled it and when Duggan scored for us to go two points up he got involved with Fanning and the linesman ended up getting pushed.
Moloney is an utter gobshite
the carry on of the managers practically making love to each other out on the field must have been embarrassing for you.
That’s typical Clare and Tipp. Dig a man when you think you’ve him beaten.
Wait until Limerick come to town. Every score will be celebrated with reckless abandon, every free we get will be met with fist pumps and flares in the crowd.
If Ducky Moloney drops the shoulder to any of our lads Sunday I’d say it’ll tip off a riot
This lad certainly makes very serious faces. Who’s the boss? There can be only 1 boss.
They are very much joint managers. They have been working together in this manner for a decade up through the development squads and there is little ego between them.
Moloney is actually the more softer/milder mannered of the two. O’Connor has little time for bullshit
Dont know how Limerick are slight favs here with the bookies. Ennis is a huge, huge advantage and Limerick are on their 3rd week on the bounce. There’s fuck all between the starting 15s but I think Limerick have more depth off the bench - but our subs havent done much off the bench since the Tipp game. Seeing Peter Casey on the bench would be a big lift. If management think he’s ready then he’ll come in and pick off a couple of points. We are also looking at one of Gillane or Dowling coming in, both pose a completely different threat.
Clare will absolutely tear into Limerick, they’ll be buzzing after last week and are on their home patch…if we are still with them by the 50/55 min mark we will do them. Think they were 10 points up on us in the league - we wont be pulling that deficit this weekend.
That’s gas. I saw the Tipp bench coming onto the pitch and giving it big licks when that free was awarded. A ridiculous free too given the context - O’Dwyer blew on about the 5th or 6th step when he’d been giving Padraic Maher twice that all through the game.
Moloney comes across as very gracious, sporting and mild-mannered in post-match interviews whether in victory or defeat. But he must get in the zone on the line - it’s only a few months since he stepped onto the Wexford Park pitch to blindside and body check Kevin Foley in the league.
It’ll be disappointing not to have Moloney’s eternally quizzical, eye-brow-raised presence manning the sidelines.
Will Morey start for Fitzgerald? Half back was a weakness for Clare the last day. I’m a huge fan of Morey as a player, wicked speed and balance, a lovely hurler, but it might be a mistake to start him against limerick, the limerick wing forwards are massive.
I think the Limerick half forwards overmatch the Clare half backs physically and the possession won and lost here will tilt the game to Limerick.
Is Moloney the fella without the glasses?
No, that’s O’Connor, he aligns them.
the limerick half backs physically overmatch the clare halforwards too…
how they use conlon will be interesting.
Conlan and Duggan? Not sure about that.
Duggan is a big long streak of piss. Conlon is a tough hardy cunt, but he could be used inside.
Duggan has filled out and developed into a serious player.
Clare hf line won’t go looking for physical exchanges, they’ll be looking to turn the LK half back line every chance they get.
They’ll run direct at LK
yeah. the problem is the half forwards filter back and are like lightning and don’t leave very many gaps for lads to run into.
I’d be in fear of Kelly and Galvin drifting out loose and fucking over points from 80 yards.
There’s a serious danger that Kelly could score a rake of wides from 80 yards alright.
