Champions find a way

Very strange comment

Limerick have been offering hope to the chasing pack for the last two years while winning all the matches that matter.

A right pricktease of a team.

He got nothing off the umpires on the Hegarty one. He came away from them and he was doing nothing then he went to his ear piece, perhaps another case of the call coming from the TV rooms cc @Malarkey

That or his linesman called it from 100 yards away

How many balls did Flanagan have to contest with Hayes and how many did he win?

Flanagan played well yesterday.

On another note, the stewards nearly caused a crush in the Clare end terrace, closed every entrance to the terrace bar one and then made everyone go to that entrance. It was madness and caused a massive queue going up the stairs that wasn’t moving at all, a giant bottle neck. I saw several people and kids coming out against the crowd who were having a panic attack.
I told the stewards that this was the fucking dumbest thing I’d ever seen.
Eventually they relented and reopened the other entrances. But it could have gotten hairy

The heat on the terrace was melting. I don’t know how they played on the field. I would have struggled to make it through injury time

I was seated fairly low in the open stand and it took
an age to get out as well. As there is only one exit with both the 100 and 200 flowing into it, it appeared as though only those seated above the exit were able to get out and everyone else pouring into aisle not moving. Looked in both directions and the other exits were the same.

It sounds like most GAA stadiums in Munster are death traps when you put over a 1000 into them.

Some great reading there for this evening, have you any link to The Clare Times? I didn’t see any write-up from them yet, they usually have their finger on the pulse.

On the Hegarty one the umpires were definitely fortieth in their opinions when he went into them.

Darragh is from Doon ( well Oola) actually. Reality is a seperate dimension out that direction

Eh i dont think so. Look bavk at it again. Looks like the umpires are saying one thing but someone in the earpiecevis saying something else. Gordon then leaves the umpires and appears to be listening for a whole before calling Hego. Hego of course moves jimself as far away from the scence of the incident so it takes a while.

Weren’ t you the one roaing to lock them in with 5 mins to go. They were only following your instructions

Why did Byrnes hit the relatively close in free which he put wide? Was it because Gillane was fouled and wanted a small breather?

He also took the free when Quaid was fouled inside the 14 yard line in the second half which I thought was strange.

The stewarding setup for the Munster games is daft, with Munster Council fellas from outside counties coming in and taking over from the local lads on the ground

AG is struggling to generate power in his strike atm with his hand. Still think he probably could have hit that one, but I’d generally think Byrnes is a better freetaker, you’d nearly have put the house on him scoring.

I did think it was odd Quaid didn’t take the deep one alright, I suppose Byrnes gives you a bit more range, so could go very very long if he wanted.

Looks like they had an input alright, he probably got assurance in the earpiece

@Big_Dan_Campbell would McCarthy have been worth a look inside in the full-forward line with Duggan on the wing or at 11?

I know Duggan got a goal in the round robin game, but I didn’t think he had a particularly good game that day. Just seems to make yere attack unnecessarily one-dimensional and his tackling, etc. would be of more value at half-forward.

McCarthy did not have a good game at all, but is clearly talented, would he better closer to goal? I don’t really see him racking up huge tackle counts either (although tbf, Hannon didn’t dictate the play from 6 either).

McCarthy damaged his calf in the first limerick game and hadn’t looked right since. Think he could be under pressure to keep his place the next day. Have the feeling Galvin and Shanagher might get the nod to freshen things up and try and keep fellas on their toes.

Thought the Clare forwards tackle count was down a good bit yesterday but I think the heat may well have been behind it. Both sets of backs had more time than the previous encounters on the ball due to it

I think the reaction to the Clare. free taking a bit over blown from yesterday. Aside from a difficult one on the left touch line which Kelly missed all the others were pot shots/low percentage frees from inside our own half with a tricky breeze across the pitch. The fact that Limerick didn’t really win any frees in a similarity areas to miss probably makes it feel like bigger misses than they were. It’s not like Byrnes was banging them over from the same distance to make them look routine.

I think McCarthy should be left to take anything from the 65 inwards and let Quilligan and David Mc have the longer range ones -be no harm to try and drop the odd one in or try and work it into a runner in space
