I think you’re suffering from aggrieved entitlement syndrome
Sure petal
I’d agree. I think we’re on an upward curve, the four weeks off will be massive for us and all of a sudden we’ve decent depth as well.
Are we really on an upward curve?
They starved gillane v Clare the first day. That’s the big change for me. We’ve dropped at least four forwards too.
In terms of executing our gameplan, yesterday was our best performance of the season. More things went right than in any other game, even if some individuals weren’t at their best.
We were very poor against Waterford & Clare in reality, we were better against Tipp and probably should have won. Edged past Cork then with a slightly better performance, yesterday was probably the most control we’ve had of a match.
Even then, it was nervy, we didn’t see it out which was similar to Tipp & Cork aswell. But definite improvements for sure.
We are creaking left right and centre. If Clare had half the intestinal fortitude that Kilkenny have we wouldn’t have gotten out of jail yesterday.
Other teams have improved aswell, the gap between Limerick and the chasing pack is getting smaller. Limerick still the standard bearers. I think the improvement in the opposition is sometimes underappreciated when assessing Limerick’s performances. To win without Finn and Lynch is a massive achievement.
Yes. We are well improved from the Waterford game. We are finding more and more answers and more players are standing up as we go along. Four week break will be massive and bring us up another few percent again.
I don’t really think we have improved too much. Clare are much better side that Waterford but it was fairly evident after the first Clare game if he just hit it into gillane we’d win games.
Seems completely forgotten we haven’t had a fully functioning Cian lynch since the Waterford round robin game last year.
Incredible we’ve kept winning but a worry he is still hasn’t been able to get fully fit after a year or so.
I don’t think anyone has forgotten it at all. And the fact we’re losing more players but still coming through games shows the overall performance levels are improving to compensate.
Limerick look totally spent, and are just getting by on toughness and experience now. I’d say one or two more Munsters and maybe another All Ireland will be all they can win
Probably 3 players carrying significant injuries.
Missing the only active player to win HOTY twice and the greatest defender of his generation.
I’d agree. Definitely a huge positive winning without Finn & Lynch being injured - out of form.
Limerick have great options from Midfield upwards on the bench.
The options from a defensive perspective are probably weaker though in comparison.
Other teams are definitely closing the gap. They’re starting to live with LK physically but the experience level is still the issue that matters in the close finish.
I think unless you can get a batch of goals against LK there is no hope of beating them.
You can believe you can go point for point but that won’t get the job done imo.
They see games out by bringing in fresh legs who can score points running away from defenders.
Cathal O’Neill is a master weapon.
Physicality matching is important, going man to man and winning your own battles…
But that won’t be enough tacking on 28pts, you’ll need 3 goals minimum imo.
Getting them? Different challenge
Paul Flynns missed free the first day cost us an all Ireland that year and I wish it was 26 in hindsight
And sure why the fuck not. Nothing illegal about it. Whatever makes a team more hungry
Your xP and xG metric is a wonderful analytical addition like the club power rankings last year. Who takes Limerick out the next day in the semi? I’d reckon Tipp under Liam Cahill have a better chance than Galway with Henry Shefflin at the helm. Although on paper Galway probably have a stronger set of players right now than Tipp.
O’Neill and Adam English had to deliver yesterday too. To be fair to Clare - Mark Rodgers was arguably their best forward yesterday they had yesterday and he’s around the same age as the two lads.
On the basis of the Munster game this year? Cahill hasn’t a great record against Limerick after a number of tries. Galway were close last year under shefflin.
