Wow, he rattled the shit outta you
In Cork with Seán Moylan, Tipperary with Dan Breen…
Arrested by Free Staters…
And sentenced for to die…
Farewell to Tipperary said the Galtee Mountain boy
Jaysus you’re only a pup
I try to add some razzmatazz to the forum on occasion.
I haven’t read over any of the thread but that’s without doubt the worst Tipp team of my lifetime and i include the 2003-2007 teams in that. Terrible.
Galway had about 5 lads last night that could hurl (McInerney, Daithi Burke, Mannion x2 and Whelan). Tipp had maybe 3 (Shelly, Ronan Maher and maybe Barrett who despite being cleaned kept going until the end) Father time caught up with Noel McGrath and Callanan.
One of the worst games of hurling of all time and deeply troubling when you see how far hurling has fallen even since the Covid game in 2020 which was light years ahead of last night.
The Miller Shield can start up again soon.
It was hard to watch.
I look forward to hearing how this is all the fault of the split season
I bid farewell to old Clonmel that I never more will see…
GMcI rather than Joseph Cooney…?
What’s the story with underage wise?
Cork and Clare look primed for sustained success going forward.
Tipp didn’t seem to play Cahillball last night. There was little hard running or taking lads on, it was mainly just flogging the ball the length of the pitch.
Maybe they don’t even have players that can run hard at the moment but it wasn’t like a Cahill team I am used to seeing.
And the few times they did get running down the middle at Galway, some of the (hand)passing was hilariously bad. They weren’t even drawing the next man, just playing loopy 50/50 or worse passes that were invariably cut out.
That game plan takes a huge toll on players. You need a deep squad with lots of rotation to sustain it. Ive never considered it to be efficient or sustainable in the modern game. You will just burn lads out.
In one sense this year might serve Tipp well in the medium term. They were forced to blood lads due to injuries and the panel should be a good bit stronger in terms of depth next year. But I suppose the problem is that the guys from the last decade are now in terminal decline but they still need them to perform if they want to win big games.
They need to move on now from that golden generation of players. They are not suited to Cahill’s style of hurling.
