Clare will be a very dangerous animal yet. The pressure on Cork when they get back to Croke Park will be insane and it wouldnât be ideal to be running into a written off bunch of dual All Ireland winners like Kelly, OâDonnell, Conlon and co.
Better off facing a team who hasnât done it before.
We couldnât win a championship game for a year, Just happy to compete God forbid we go close to 3 decades without a provincial title then Iâd be hurt.
You said it there. Clare have top class all time players and quality throughout the team. They have to quality to beat anyone on their day. Itâs why it was funny when the tipp lads thought they were more of the threat than clare. Tipp have nothing like the quality of players Clare have.
Presuming limerick start the same team as the last day they should beating this cork team by five to eight points. Cork will improve again so if we canât beat this outfit with a bit to spare we may as well throw our hat it.
Yerrah if Limerick win - then Cork dindât want to win and if Cork win - Limerick are gone past it. At least we are there to take part in our 8th (eight) final in a row while the Tippos start sneaking back in behind the sofas for a few years.
I agree Clare have better players than Tipp right now, but all bets are off when a Tipp team heads up the M7. We can go from being a shambles to unbeatable in the blink of an eye as we saw last year and in 2019.
Clare need to look at this All Ireland as a 6 week blitz now and see that its very winnable.
Cork remain the best team in the land, but theyâve been that way for 2 years.
Limerick look much better than the shambles they were last year but still have a lot to prove as any team that loses to 14 man Dublin tends to have.
You could have a bit of respect for the observers that nail their colours to the mast rather than talking out both sides of their mouth. Obviously thereâs no way cork arenât all out to win but theyâre down two top class players and that has an impact. Advantage limerick but itâll be back to evens for the next meeting.
Says the fella from a county that havenât done a back to back in 60 years and got humiliated inside less than 2 weeks ago, you couldnât make it up really.
I donât think ye can beat a good team in croke park to honest with you, itâs been a long time since ye have. Thereâs little glory in somehow being last man standing when teams implode for whatever reason but I suppose they all count for the history books.
Cork probably donât win that round robin game if Lynch stays on the field.
Fitzgibbon has to be worth 3-5 points.
Damien Cahalane is due a cleaning.
Limerick have a 15-1 record in finals with the 1 being a penalty shootout.
On the plus for cork the game is being played on Astro turf where they have an unbelievable record but I still donât think itâs enough. Limerick win this pulling up imo.
Forecast for cork on Sunday is rain so that adds a lot of intangibles. Not sure does it favour anyone but likes of buckley, walsh and healy would rather a dry day anyway
