Tipp’s to lose

Cork will raise an early gallop again

I backed them to win it out as I assume it’ll be paid out in April

They might be shadow boxing in Munster. Could be Croke Park before they unleash the sweeper system again

Clare will walk this

Draw looks in Clare’s favour - two week gap between their first three games. Limerick have Clare and Cork away on back to back weekends to start which leaves little margin for error if they aren’t ready to roll.

That Tipp v Cork opening match will set the tone for both counties. Hard to see where Waterford will pick up points this year but whoever drops points to them probably doesn’t make it out of the group.

The AI is between the three teams that emerge from Munster. The rest of us are making up the numbers.

It’d be hard to see Waterford pick up points in either Ennis up first or in Limerick in their last game.

Their record in both venues is historically very bad.

Limerick under Kiely have 100% record v Waterford in championship, 9 wins.

It’s not easy winding people. The key is to not make it too obvious.

Whoever cracks the Tipp sweeper system

And it won’t be easy for traditionalists like limerick and cork

Limerick have been dealt a very difficult fixture list.

Away to Cork who’ll have a game under their belt first Time up will be tough and then away to Clare who’ll have had a two week break.

That is very tough.

Waterford and Tipp at home.

We’ll be hoping Tipp are qualified.

The two home wins should be enough to qualify.

Maybe on head-to-head but Clare missed out with two wins in 2019.

That’s a tough fixture list for Limerick.

Two games to open with away from home.

Seven day turnarounds aren’t easy.

Meeting cork with a game under belt isn’t helpful either.

I think in 2019 cork were well beaten in their opening game v Tipp before beating Limerick the following week in the Gaelic grounds.

Is there any rotation of fixtures that doesnt see Waterford play their final game at an away ground?

The two away, two at home thing is a bit silly.

I am no fan of this round robin nonsense but I’m not sure it can be avoided. There’s almost always someone who has back to back away games at some point of the rotation.

Limerick were Away/Away in round one and two in 2025
Waterford were Away/Away in round 3 and 4 in 2024
Cork were Away/Away in round 3 and 4 in 2023
Cork were Away/Away in round 3 and 4 in 2022

Looks a fairer set of fixtures in general this year.

Last year Tipp had all four games completed by the time Limerick and Cork threw in for their third game.
