Clare are home home and away away this year too.
2 home games to start is a great advantage.
Momentum is everything

Limerick havenât had their first game at home since 2019 and away again this year.
If you can win them.
Essentially, there are four possible Munster final opponents for Cork
Carkness
Five if you include Cork themselves, at half time.
Bringing Cork and Waterford to Limerick would be bananas stuff.
This rota nonsense, all to pay for Stade De Frank
Shouldnt all the Munster Finals be played in the best stadium?
More to a Munster final than just the stadium
More to a Munster final than just the stadium
Surely all the players want to play in the best stadium.
@myboyblue - âWe need to get Dublin out of Croke Parkâ
Also @myboyblue - âWe need to play all our games in our best stadiaâ

But we havent gotten Dublin out of Croke Park?
The two away, two at home thing is a bit silly.
Clare have Waterford and a two week break before playing us in Ennis.
Lohan will be hopping with that.
Anyone who doesnât back their own county in this poll is a complete fanny
Itâs the Munster Championship. Everyone knows thereâll be two home and two away games and who theyâll be against. Nobody has to play three weeks in a row anymore so moaning about schedules is futile.
In a five team competition, someone will have a bye on Round 1 - thatâs the only possible disadvantage to be faced, and itâs not that much hardship as youâre coming in fresh against a team youâve had a good look at in championship mode.
Semple Stadium is no longer fit for purpose for holding games with an attendance over 25K. It is a Hillsborough waiting to happen.
Only the absolute fuckwits in the GAA could schedule Clare & Limerick for a 2pm throw in the same day as the Great Limerick run. All traffic will be forced through the tunnel now.
Of the six round robins the team who didnât play in round 1 have lost four of the six games.
Waterford lost by 8 in 2018 to Clare
Limerick lost by 7 to cork
Tipperary lost 8 to clare
Cork won by 9 to Waterford
Tipperary lost by 15 to Limerick.
Waterford won v Clare by 8.
2 from 6.
Waterford and cork bucked the trend but were both at home and the teams they meet didnât qualify from the group stage.
The other four games were relatively one sided affairs too.
Also of the teams who gets a by in the opening round and plays their second game in seven days against a side whoâs coming off a two week break the record is:
Three losses, two draws and one win. Limerick in 2019 beat Waterford by 30 points.
The only side to pick up 3 Points from 4 with fixtures like Limerick this year are cork in 2023. They had two home games as well not away like Limerick.
I dont like it as a system for a championship but I donât think thatâs the biggest issue with it.
At some point, five teams are going to all finish on 4 points with three emerging on score difference and two bowing out which would be a joke.
Give me a proper championship like this over it any day of the week:
QF - Cork v Limerick
SF - Tipp v Clare
SF - Cork/Limerick v Waterford
