Itās a huge game for Cork, a great chance to test themselves against the aristocrats of hurling. After a pretty poor 2020 Kingston will be under pressure to deliver, their Corkness was shaken and needs reaffirming.
They need to get Dr Anthony OāConnor to take time out of his busy schedule and deliver a rousing speech in the dressing room on the essence of Corkness.
Horgan is a class player, immense talent but he has been cleaned plenty of times in big games and I suspect he will be again when it really comes to it. He has gone up another level in recent years but people are in danger of rewriting history. He aināt a Reid, or a Canning or even a Callanan really.
Also, his workrate is as poor as any Cork forward. Harnedy, if he can get himself right is more important, and Fitzgibbon.
Trust me, Cork have being going at it unofficially for a while now. Theyāre gonna blood a few in the league and the old boys know itās their last chance and are up for it . Thereās a big push coming from this this year, theyāre on a mission.
I think they might be the team to knock off Limerick in a few years but they need to ditch the old guard which is what they look to be doing in fairness.
Ya but itās tricky with the shortened season. Cork Will win 2 or 3 all Irelands this decade. Itās up to limerick to keep cork down tbh. Tipp, Galway and kk donāt have the younger players coming through.
Totally agree, unreal wristiness and skill level; would rarely if ever see him miscontrol a ball but he is reliant on the right service. He has spells at 11 during games in his career but it doesnāt really work. It will be interesting to see where he and Harnedy pitch up this season, youād want them close to goal but I donāt know is that the age profile of a 2 man ff line.
Callanan is as well but nowhere near to the same extent.
Horgan has better wrists than anyone. Only Canning comes close.
Irish people get very offended when they see someone with an extraordinary skill set so theyād rather focus on their faults like laziness or lack of pace.
