Clare were robbed not to be in an AI final in 2018 and arenât that old. A lot of shit gone on since but theyâre a dangerous animal if they get momentum. Theyâve got genuine class around the field
If this was a normal year Iâd be surprised to see that happening tbh. Think they are where we were a few years ago where there is a serious dip once you go past the starting 15.
Aidan Walsh has a good record against Limerick, nominated for man of the match in the 2014 Munster final and was excellent again for them when Cork beat them again in 2019 in the munster round robin, he wasnt on the panel in 2018 for that all ireland semi final which Limerick won. most here like to say he is \was useless but I go against the grain on that one
I share the view of Special_Olympiakos on this i.e. Antrim have a good chance v the Dubs , got shot down for it a few weeks ago on the leinster champiionship thread
David McInerney was absolutely top quality. No doubt about it. But not in the past 3 to 4 years. A shadow of his former self.
I disagree on Morey. Great going forward but a poor defender. Cleary is one paced and has been found out several times. Heâs better at 6 than 3 though.
that a fairer assessment, I am unsure if they have better options and perhaps should not have cut him adrift, he certainly disrupted Limerick in the air in 2019 and would not have won that match without him
Lohan putting Cleary at 3 is bizarre. Heâs a fine centre back. McInerney was very good at full back. He could nullify a fella. Moving him into midfield. Again. Absolutely bizarre. Morey is sticky enough
McInerney is a very good hurler, but I wouldnât say heâs a great âdefenderâ. Morey is similar; loads of pace and a fair bit of hurling but not a natural defender.
Cleary is solid, a fine player. But it looks like they need him at centre-back and full-back.
I actually think Browne is decent, probably does give away too many frees. Oisin OâBrien is Clareâs best natural full-back line player but isnât available for selection.
