Agreed, Clare will walk this All Ireland
this is the munster SHC thread budâŚ
Fuck Clare.
I still think theyâre a bit off because of the defenders issue. I think Lohan will make them solid in fairness to him.
Kelly is class, Malone is a good bit of stuff if not a particularly free scorer, Conlon on form is quality but is aging. I would say their other forwards are inconsistent. SOD is certainly a handful but he didnât overly impress last year. Shanagher has his moments for sure, but is predictable enough.
Shane Meehan is a good one though. Heâs only 19 this year but will be a serious player for them when he breaks through; as good a young forward as Iâve seen in recent seasons.
Conor Galvin is a very good prospect too.
yer man Ryan is handy. Good paw and can take a score. Taylor looks light but looks lethal if he gets a sniff. Theyâve a load of lads who can get goals.
Great to see this tread hopping. Iâm getting giddy. 2 months to go. A tight league Will set it up nicely
Cian?
Agreed, good hurler. Not sure what position he will play at the highest level, maybe half-back?
I think he should be thrown in at centre back, he can make that position his own for ten years.
what a load of bollocks of a cliche
Sorry, yeah, Cian. Very good player.
Meehan is a fair live wire, some pace. Very light though.
I couldnât agree with that whatsoever. He is probably one of the faster players on the panel over 40 yards and you would struggle to find any examples of him being burned for pace during his intercounty career. He has an upright running style and isnât flashy in his stickwork but he is far from one paced. He is a solid if unspectacular hurler who does the basics well and gives solid 7 out of 10 performances most days out. Our problem is that we donât have two of him to play at both full and centre back.
Clareâs half backline was utterly inept all last winter aside from the Wexford game where they played into our hands. If they can turn that line into an average unit who stop making the basic mistakes they consistently made last winter then the team as a whole will be a tough team to break down. If they donât then it is hard to have faith that we could consistently win games.
It will be interesting to see who Lohan picks at centre back over the next few weeks.
Fair enough. I suppose a few examples stick out in my mind of him getting turned a few times by Kyle Hayes in the LITGG in 2019, I think similar happened v Cork with Lehane or Harnedy, maybe his upright running style and those few occasions have skewed my perception. I still wouldnât consider him a top quality defender though.
He can be turned like any half back but in a straight foot race he can cover the ground. Limerickâs goal against Clare in 2017 is a good example of it - Cian Lynch got a running start against him as Clearly was turned out around the 65 yet he kept stride for stride with him for 40 yards and pressuring Lynchâs shot - unfortunately Fahey went to his knees and gave I think it was David Dempsey at easy tap it.
He is solid. He isnât going to utterly dominate games but has good instincts and keeps it simple. He isnât going to win you games but he wonât lose you any either.
Limerick will win Munster pulling up.
Too big and strong.
Other counties are behind the curve on injecting the underage teams.
The lad with the biggest team of grapplers always espouses âmanly hurlingâ
Sure thereâs barely a need for a referee in hurling.
Im confused, are we talking Clare up or down, there is a real lack of togetherness here amongst the limerick lads. @Thomas_Brady the only lad to nail his colours really.
The take away from reading the last hundred odd posts is that Clare have the most talented team ever assembled, but will win fuck all.
