If Clare hit 70% theyâll win at a canter.
Theyâd have absolutely destroyed Waterford were it not for the series of unfathomably brutal wides.
What would you know about hurling?
As much as you do about being a nice person
A nice person is it . Youâre a good laugh all the same flatty.
Itâs all about momentum and ye have it.
That is a fair stretch now. The big whinge about Tipp was the fact that so few new faces were given game time in the League and that the older lads got too many minutes.
I think the only drawback is the fact that it is a seven day turnaround. Doesnât leave much recovery and prep time. But given the how the year is scheduled it isnât as big an issue as used to be.
That and Sheedy will have been able to see Clare in action and plot a game plan.
How many games did Brendan Maher and Seamus Callinan start in the league? 2 including the Westmeath game?
2 players? Is that it?
Look, itâs good that Clare are firing again but they beat the Worst Waterford team Iâve seen in years.
Conlon got a free ride last weekend.
Clare have certainly improved and were full value for last weekend, but theyâre facing a completely different style of team on Sunday. I wouldnât expect too many surprises in the Tipp XV - heâll go with the tried and trusted in an attempt to wring one more year out of them.
If the weather holds, which itâs due to, I canât se anything other than a fairly comfortable Tipperary win.
The bookies think the weekend will see 4 easy wins in the hurling championship .
I think Clare v Tipp is the best chance of a real contest . Then Kk v Wex
Interesting to see how Tipp go
Break Kellyâs hand under the first dropping ball and the job is oxo.
Any Clare person Iâve spoken to is very confident of beating Tipp at weekend. Even with OâDonnell out.
After the defeat to Antrim we have had a very good league. Lot of lads blooded but also a lot of continuity built. We hurled Wexford up a stick for 55 minutes despite having half a team out before the sending off. They had a small wobble v Dublin before half time which they rectified and the backs have clicked into gear since.
The scoring burden no longer rests on Kelly and the team have a good mix between long and short depending on the day. They are a much better balanced side compared to last yearâs championship and their attitude is very good. Tipp are a fine side and should expect to best us as we still have weak links, Cleary on Callinan, Flanagan at corner back, neither of the Galvins are in great form since returning. The team are building very solid momentum, as to how far they can go remains to be seen.
Like I say, Tipp no doubt have the hurling to hurt us and if they are at the pitch of it they can exploit our weaknesses and their forwards are very potent. But Tippâs record first day out over the last 7 or 8 years has more flat performances than wins from what I recall.
They expect 3/4 games to be no more than a score in it.
They always price the scores tightly . Cork and Wex are 5/2 - Dublin 4/1 & Clare are 3/1 .
Based on those handicap bets are the way to go the weekend
Wexford are worth a bet at that price. They have a very good record over Kilkenny and if there is any performance to be gleaned from them this year then it is surely this weekend.
Handicaps are 3, 3 and 4(Tipp V Clare) always refer to the set handicap rather than straight match price. They are expecting no more than a puck of a ball in those games.
Mental you can have 4/1 and only a three point handicap.
Honestly, Dublin are the value bet at 4/1.
Solid team.
