Pace and hunger is a lethal combination and Lohan has found it.
Nobody is saying Tipp canât or wonât perform. But there are legitimate questions which can be asked. Their record first day out from 2010 to 2020 has more bad performances/results than good, they showed little in the league and 3 weeks is a very short run into championship and appear to be looking for key players to play their way into form.
There are weaknesses for them to exploit and if they are primed they will most likely win. But Clare are in a good place going into this and quite rightly will see this as a very winnable game. Both teams are capable of playing a style of hurling which will cause huge problems for the other, Tipp with their movement and directness while Clare have a lot of pace and strong runners who are adept at taking ball off the shoulder and scoring.
I wouldnât consider Tippâs League campaign as relatively good or bad either.
Time will tell.
From reading the forum the last week I think it is time to give Clare the All Ireland. From Waterford, It was the most woeful performance from a set of forwards I have seen in a long time. They ran into every tackle looking to break a line rather than actually taking a score. I think Tipperary will win this game and win handy.
I thought Clareâs forwards were worse.
No way, at least they made some runs to get on ball, Waterford look lost trying to play the style of hurling. Too many passengers and missing some of their better defenders. The wonât win all Irelandâs with one or two forwards. Limerick have eight scoring threats on the park most games, Tipperary are a bit shy but their forwards on song can really punish you when in form. I think they will have way too much for Clare this weekend.
Would love to see him there. Hopefully next season
âDonât underestimate the power of noiseâ Oh, the irony.
Nobody is even suggesting that Clare are all Ireland contenders. But they are much improved on last year and are rounding into form.
Tipp on the other hand are hard to gauge. Their championship form last year and league form this is far from stellar and if they perform in and around the same level as we have seen over the last 12 months from Tipp then this will be a very tight game which Clare have every chance.
Enjoy pal!!
What a wanker
â On a personal level, it was rare I played to my potential in challenge games or league games. I wanted one thing, and one thing only⌠atmosphere. â
Painful.
Anyone who disagrees is a flute.
Fancy Clare on Sunday to bate Tipp. Said it last week but there is a bit of momentum there now after the Kilkenny victory in the league plus last weeks championship win over Waterford.
Cathal Malone has really improved - really honest player but his use of the ball has improved an awful lot. Clare are a lot stronger with the two Galvins and Conlon back obviously too.
Could argue Waterford played naive ball into Conlon last week, will be interesting to see how he goes again this weekend at 6.
Cork finally have options on the line. Pity about the rain, Limerick will still ate them without salt.

If Sheedy manages to get something out of that team this year (i.e. a place in the final, which I sincerely doubt), itâll be his greatest achievement in management.
Heâs starting 13 of the 14 outfield players from 2019 final. If Niall OâMeara was fit, it would probably be all 14, as without him (or Bonner) weâre lacking that drive from the half forward line.
Heâs tried out a rake of lads over the past two league campaigns, but to be honest, none have stood out and made themselves counted. After 2019, the two players I was really thinking might make the breakthrough were Jerome Cahill and Ger Browne (young Connolly too, but thatâll take another year or two). Those first two are not involved at all. The bench looks weak enough. Thereâs a bit of go in Willie Connors off the bench, but you wouldnât have any great expectations about many of the others.
