Iād suspect it was a Donal Og plan.That oddball is obsessed with the puck out (perhaps understandly so as he built a cult around its importance to hide the fact he was shit at saving shots) and they maybe felt it could unsettled Nash.

I had this very conversation last night, mate - Iām amazed he didnāt have a plan A, B and C howeverā¦ Antnee Dalo reckons it worked and did disrupt Corkās puckouts but the short one to his defenders were the ones that caused all the botherā¦ Is that not still a puck-out malfunction?
Iām sure he was key to devising their puck out strategy but I was referring to a Clare backroom team member lobbing Nashās sliotars (or is it sliothars?) into the crowd. Iād say Cusack was behind that too. Sure he devoted whole passages of his autobiography to switching sliotars and hiding sliotars during games. Heās a prized weirdo.

Thatās it isnāt it. They stopped Corkās initial plan, but it ended up just as bad and they didnāt react at all.
JJ Delaney and Paddy Stapleton summed it up fairly well on the GAA hour. Both felt it was a good idea to disrupt Corkās puckouts in that way. Stapleton said that the Clare backs were just nowhere near tight enough and shouldnāt have been beaten to 80 yard deliveries so consistently.
Delaney said that if he was getting bypassed in a game like that, as a wing back, he have dropped 20 yards for the Cork puckouts and closed up the space in front of the full-backline. Something Kilkenny did in 11/12/13 to shut down the Tipp forwards.

Delighted that happened not that it helped them. Cork can only compete on an even par when they are cheating, if any of you think KK were bad for cheating you havenāt seen nothing yet, Cork will make them look like choirboys.
