Munster SHC Final 2017 - Clare v Cork

Colm Galvin is arguably the best midfielder in the country.

His younger brother Ian is a fine prospect too for Clare.

He has been average these last 3 years like all the Clare players in the main . They need to perform Sunday big time .

Galvin on his day is class.

As is Kelly. Playing Kelly wing-forward is madness though. While potentially he could do damage, it’s also a lot easier for him to be marginalised. Let him roam. If that means dropping Podge or Reidy, just bite the bullet and do that.

I rate him very highly,

In a poor game granted against us, he was outstanding no one came close to him.

Brilliant hurler when he’s fully focused.

His days have been rare since September 13 . A fabulous talent but maybe was stifled by a poor system . He now has a blank canvass and needs to perform .

Will ye win Sunday Joe & by how much?

I reckon they’re going to make a big statement on Sunday.

Playing Cork will suit Clare.

I would drop Kelly before Podge every time.

:joy:

They may do but I thought they were poor versus us . They were very poor against us in 2015 and 2016 as well . If they perform Sunday it will go against the grain .

Still think Podge was more important to Clare’s 2013 win than Kelly, and the better player over the course of the season.

I think they’ve the right management team in place now though.

I expect them to produce on Sunday…think they have serious potential on paper at least from 8-15.

I fancy them more so as its Cork too as they’ll suit them.

That may have been true in 2013, but since then Kelly has been better. Podge wasn’t great against us at all, very quiet too and didn’t do that much when he played in the league either.

McGrath is the real dangerman, I think, but I would take Kelly over Collins right now. He’ll have bad days when he hits loads of wides but he can create chances out of nothing in a tight game. Collins is smarter and more of a team player but not in form atm. Ideally, you’d have both.

Do you reckon there’s any credence to Kelly being burnt out from the club AI run?

No break from hurling for that length of time has to have an affect.

It is possible, but I don’t think putting him in a position where the game could just pass him by is the right idea. And he’s not great in the air, he’s not going to win puckouts with a 50-50 ball. And Fahy had a bad day with the targeted ones; I’d expect he’ll be better in that regard on Sunday.

But Kelly will have had a bit of a break over the past 4 weeks or so. I’d expect him to be flying if he’s allowed roam.

A long time ago pal

Fahy is the key for Clare . I am not sure if he has the skills to implement the puck out strategy Clare need . He was poor v Lk and gave us a puncher’s chance .

I am looking forward to this and got a ticket tonight .

Clare are a good team we have a. Chance to shut them cork langer s up like in 2013 but.i am not predicting until I see the team s

Skill/technique isn’t Fahy’s issue. His temperament is the worry

When is the team being announced
