Guitarist Jonny Greenwood has composed a hauntingly dramatic instrumental score for Oscar nominated writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson’s ambitious new film, There Will Be Blood. An adaptation of the Upton Sinclair novel Oil!

Greenwood’s remarkable compositions, written primarily for strings, have already garnered considerable praise in advance reviews. The score resembles his rock compositions only in the level of daring and inventiveness to be found throughout these tracks and in the unsettling atmosphere he is able to conjure at key moments. Have a browse through that first site above - there’s every band under the sun. I just linked to the indie section, there’s plenty more by choosing different filters from the right hand side.

Just giving this thread a bump because Bandage mentioned it the other day and there is a serious amount of quality in there.

In particular this site is very good but as I said they’re all linked from:

but selecting “indie” is a good way of narrowing it down, depending on what you want of course.

Downloaded Kid A by Radiohead yesterday and was in the process of downloading London Calling b The Clash because I can’t find the CDs. However I accidentally cancelled The Clash and when I tried to download it again it said I have reached my free limit. There is a countdown timer on it - will I able to download free again? Anyone have this problem?

You have a limit per day or every 4 hours on some sites. I’m assuming it was megaupload or some site like that?

Yeah there are limits per day on what you can download so just start it again tomorrow.

They’re not all hosted on the same sites so try one of the other ones now (i.e. there are some megaupload, some rapidshare, some yousendit etc.) and download some stuff from one of the sites where you haven’t exceeded your daily limit.

Finally got around to using this and just downloaded cd 1 of 7 from Radiohead’s box set via Rapidshare and even managed to transfer it successfully over onto my mp3 player. This is not something I would have been able to do 2 months ago so I feel an amazing sense of achievement. They won’t let me download another album via Rapidshare so I’m going to scout around to see whether I can find any decent yousendit, megaupload etc options.
