NAMA and the alternatives

The question really is whether any cronies benefited, or whether it was good ol schoolroom blundering.

Has there been indication of FG/gov involvement in NAMA decisions for better or worse?

There are two separate issues really.

  1. That Cushanan was on the take. Which is obviously wrong and fairly easily proven.
  2. That NAMA didn’t get full value for the loans. Which seems to be more of a matter of opinion than anything. Everything’s only really worth what somebody is willing to pay.

Now a link between the two is the obvious problem but I haven’t seen anything proving that yet.

NAMA were mandated (incorrectly IMO) to wind themselves down as quickly as possible, so you can’t criticise them for doing so. The loans were sold at firesale prices, but then again it was a firesale.

Noonan sat on the CAG report for months while NAMA continued it’s firesale. Alarm bells should have immediately rang at the ministry of finance over Project Eagle and the responsible course of action would have been to suspend activities until they got to the bottom of the sleaze.

I am sure that Noonan will use the ill health excuse as soon as the questions get too hard for him to answer

Noonan sucks. He’s either a contemptible criminal or a simpleton.

The real issue here is that anyone would want to buy anything in the North.

If he runs with that the cunt should be hounded to his death bed like he did with Brigid mccole

More intelligent people, Catholic schools are much smarter than their southern counterparts.

a huge amount doing degrees that are worthless to modern employers . The place is an economic wasteland . What is needed is a nationalist party with good pro business policies . The current Nationalist have served their purpose . New thinking needed. On the main you are correct as northern nationalists are good achievers on leaving the O6.

Good pro business parties?

Didn’t the pro-business parties in the South run the economy into the ground, create a huge homeless crisis, a malfunctioning health service system and burden its citizens for the next 20+ years with a non-sovereign debt?

So what is needed is less people doing degrees?

Maybe more people dropping out of education after the Junior Cert too?

We know all that but at least people will invest here . The 06 is an utter basket case and TBH the Nhs aint all its cracked up to be , the Brits pumped money in to their banks too and they are doing needed austerity thanks to a wise Tory government .

Yes ; a good vocational training programme between leaving cert/inter cert . Too many here go to 3rd level college … Think we are way ahead of the likes of Germany .

There’s an argument for it. We are short of carpenters, electricians etc at the moment

We can’t all sit in offices all day doing nothing. Some people actually have to do some work, so that those of us in the services industry can move their money around and rip them off for the privilage

good point Tass

British rule has failed

Not Tass : but you are spot on . End partition .

Nama is a joke.

Cerberus is making an absolute killing.
