Best result for both teams.
Could have lost it, should have won it, it was one of those. A decent performance after the shambles in Nowlan. Joe will improve again for the game too. This game should stand to both teams
No harm getting another run out I suppose, what did O’dwyer do Laz? Never caught the replay
Got a straight red for a straight belt on Regan I think it was. He betrays his Tipp roots all too often that lad
What a brilliant wrestling style hip toss by David Collins on (I think) Ross O’Carroll before McCrabbe came in and got sent off for hitting him.
Good bottle by McMorrow at the end to level it. Looks a good prospect.
Galway heavily reliant on big joe
By my reckoning, this is the fourth game out of the six that Dublin have played in the league where they had a lead going into the last few minutes and managed not to win. Daly can’t be best pleased about that, though obviously they showed good resolve to reverse that in extra time today with 13 men.
Was rushe playing? Didn’t figure in the highlights
Canning looked good. As lean as he’s been in a long time. Barry Kelly rode the Dubs going by the highlights.
His striking was excellent
Dublin have themselves to blame, had possession in normal time inside Galway half and a little composure and they would have held out, badly placed ball and oreagan found canning for the winner. Galway look all over the place to me, bringing on new players, especially younger ones this late smacks of desperation. But for canning the looked well beaten, but I guess with him you cannot rule them out but I would strongly fancy Dublin in that replay
That must not have been much of a winner
Meant equaliser , oreagan at 7 and I think I saw tannian at MF …
Yup.
Can’t wait to see a Dublin half-forward line of Keaney/Rushe/Sutcliffe. O’Carroll looked decent as well today.
Aye, you really need to bring in young fellows straight into the squad before the pre-season even starts. Brehony and Glynn looked good but bringing them in this late is taking the piss.
Doubt it will happen, once Keaney is back in the frey then Rushe will be moved to midfield or centre back again. It looks an excellent line on paper alright.
He could have driven it out over the sideline or into the corner at least. Can’t remember who was on the ball though, would hope it wasn’t one of the more senior players. Canning was very impressive, moving really well and looked very eager for ball. Shoulder seems to have recovered well too going by his striking. To me Galway look to be still too reliant (Canning aside) on lads who have been found wanting over the last few years, lads like Tannion and Donnellan and a few more like them. For a panel with so many lads who have no championship experience you’d be concerned about the ability of older guard to hold the line in championship. In fairness though, Cunningham may be trying to do too much at once but at least he has the courage of his convictions.
Dublin have a lot of excellent forwards to pick from but the challenge is making a cohesive unit out of them. A bigger challenge with Dublin than a lot of other counties by the looks of it.
Yeah probably, but still it would be good craic watching those three up against the KK half-back line.
They’ll leave joey boland CHB?
