The biggest plus factor for Limerick today in order of importance
- No injuries
- Gillane back on frees for Champioship
- Minutes into P Casey and DOD
The biggest plus factor for Limerick today in order of importance
Keep AOC on frees - he is a class act and will come good.
Reshuffle coming - DOD to 8, Lynch to 11, AOC to 15
FFS I’d score that myself
He was well penned in
I cant see Aidan as a roving 15.
He is in a battle with P Casey and Reidy for the P Casey role. P Casey will win that.
Agree with the most of that but it’s a strange take on AOC and SOB’s respective performances for me.
P Casey is exceptionally suited to the P Casey role.
You could nearly say he is made for it
They need to move heaven and earth to get that movement coach back from the Tipp minor footballers.
He was a tramp for the first 15 minutes of that game. A ticking time bomb
Cork are going nowhere with that backline. Some hard decisions coming up for Ben.
Was his poorest game in a red jersey. Whatever about the marking job his touch was mile off and he should have been pulled at HT
Harnedy no longer able to dig that half forward line out at puckout time.
Barrett doesn’t even contest puckouts beside Will. Some of Ben’s tweaks to the team might need to be torn up - the only one you could say that has improved the team is the introduction to TOC at midfield.
Other point is while WOD is no speedster, he’s a lot quicker than people think, certainly more mobile than Hannon was towards end of career. And he’s getting better in the air every day out.
I’d say Barry Walsh could be a bolter to improve them a tad.
Definitely - there’s way more cut and thrust in him than an Alan Connolly imo.
Many of the Cork lads have as much mileage as Limerick too and are on the road since 2017. A new regime with different game plan is the last thing they needed imo.
Yesterday was like a blend between Kingston and Ryan.
Duds Healy is a class player and a huge loss and will improve them when he comes back. I also think they would be as well off gambling with DOL at 3 and moving Joyce out to half backline where his pace is needed.
Ben is trying to put his own stamp on the team and will take a while to bed in.
You’d be silly to write off harnedy. There were lads here writing off Byrnes and even Hegarty all season.
Cork will be a different animal on their bouncy pitch with a feral coked up crowd roaring them on and maybe also a helpful ref like Stack
Same old issues with Cork. Stark difference in the space afforded to the Limerick forward line vs what space Limerick gave the Cork forwards. The half back line and full back line for Cork were too far apart and Gillane made hay with that space.
Cork have been able to turn this off and on before.
BOC has set the tone with his wishes for the Cork players to be allowed to commit GBH on opposition players; the GAA have given this the go ahead in order to milk the Cork supporter cash cow
I think once they are starved of possession they are fairly toothless; do not have the “intinsity” without the ball
