Conal Keaney played very well and looks to be getting back to his best. that is good news for them
Not great overall alright to win only by a point after being 6 up for much of the second half.
How likely is it that Liam sheedt will end 2013 with an enhanced reputation.
apart maybe from clares mike mac has a member of a backroom team ever been hyped as much as Eamon OâShea?
delighted for JBM. You have gobsites sniping at him for not selecting an injured goalkeeper in his mid 30s and dropping John Gardiner who hasnt hurled well in a few years. I know its only a league game but it will silence JBMs critics
I wonder has Mr Cadogan any tweets re the hurling panel selection tonight
In fairness the man dropped, Cusack, has said nothing and I believe took it pretty well. Itâs everyone else who is getting miffed about it, Sully and Cadigan in particular. Theyâd want to grow up.
I missed that game by 10 mins but should het to watch it tomorrow. Great result. Sometimes getting rid of older guys and bring in new fellas just pushes it enough into te minds if young fellas that they are now trusted to carry on and play for Cork. That alone can have a massive positive affect in their confidence and thus their game.
Notwithstanding the fact that when it comes to keepers Nash is in better form and McCarthy is probably more talented than Cusack anyway. It was nit that hard a call IMO.
I think Galway will be very happy to be leading that match at h/t as the scoreline doesnât necessarily reflect the balance of play. I thought for the most part, the KK backs have been dominating their men, but crucially, on 4 occasions the Galway forwards have broken free and have plundered 3 goals, with Canning missing a good opportunity for another one. Excellent long deliveries for the first two goals from Canning, who was operating back around his own half back line for much of that half. Great anticipation by Davy Glennon for the first one, and Niall Healy cooly finished the second.
The third goal came form a beautiful crossfield pass form Canning to Hayes, who cleverly avoided the challenges of Tommy Walsh, and JJ before lashing to the net. At the other end KK have had to work hard for their scores, with a few of them coming form frees after rash challenges from Galway men. Iarla Tannian withdrawn through injury according to the commentators, but thought he was hurling a bit like a headless chicken myself. Fast, hard hurling for the time of year
