NCAA Football 2014/15

Miss State 24-10 down nearing the end of the 4th quarter, looks like they’re fucked. That’s great news for TCU and Ohio State. TCU impressed in a blowout victory over Texas while Ohio State had a gritty victory over Michigan.

Ohio State’s QB JT Barrett has broken his ankle however, that’s a hammer blow for the Buckeyes with starting QB Braxton Miller already gone for the season. They’ll roll with third string QB Cardale Jones in next weeks Big 10 championship game which looks like it will be against Wisconsin. The Badgers currently lead Minnesota 27-17 in the 4th in the winner takes all clash.

Seminoles look to have sealed a 5 point win over the Gators. Very lucky. 4 picks, and Gators missed 2 field goals.

Ole miss look home and dry too. Rankings next week will be interesting.

Alabama beat auburn 55-44 scoring a heap of TDs in the second half. Cooper putting himself in the frame for the Heisman after his performance. Highest scoring iron bowl too. Top 4 projected as bama, Oregon, Florida and either Tcu or Ohio with Baylor just missing out

This is brilliant - the news report is like something off the Daily Show

And the field for the first ever College Football playoff has been set:
#1 Alabama v #4 Ohio State
#2 Oregon v #3 Florida State
The big announcement see Ohio St corral the last spot over the two co-champs of the Big 12, TCU and Baylor. The committee has really made a holy show out of itself, the final rankings do not fit in at all with the overall rationale they appeared to be using. Cannot wait for Winston v Mariota though.

Sensational news, the Big 12 pays the penalty for not having a championship game. You’ve got to feel for TCU, they drop from #3 to #6 despite annihilating Iowa State. Totally agree with @Blake , the selection committee have totally gone against the logic they have been using thus far in deciding the play off bracket.

The Heisman finalists this year are Marcus Mariota QB Oregon, Melvin Gordon RB Wisconsin and Amari Cooper WR Alabama. It’s on this Saturday night and should be a formality for the Ducks signal caller.

Well after years of controversy and rancour the first ever college football play offs have finally arrived.

First up its the Rose Bowl with #2 Oregon playing #3 Florida State. A clash that is all about Marcus Mariota V Jameis Winston, the two QBs who look certain to go first and second overall in this years NFL draft. The Seminoles have not looked like the team that swept to glory last year and have been extremely fortunate to narrowly overcome a string of average opponents. Winston’s off field problems are well documented but they haven’t seemed to have badly affected his on field performances. He’s been erratic, throwing plenty of picks, but there is no doubting his leadership qualities as he has lead this team to several comebacks this season. In the other corner is the flawless character and Heisman winner Marcus Mariota. The Ducks QB has been sublime this season and if he is on song they should have enough to make the final.

The second game pits probably the two most celebrated current HCs in the game, Nick Saban and Urban Meyer, against each other as #1 Alabama faces #4 Ohio State. The Buckeyes produced a miracle to make the play offs after suffering a shocking defeat to also rans Virginia State in their opening game. The Buckeyes ran the table after that loss to sneak into the fourth berth, this despite relying on their third string QB Cardale Jones to play in the Big 10 championship game. Jones answered in emphatic fashion as they hammered Wisconsin 59-0 to leapfrog TCU and Baylor into the coveted 4th spot. Jones won’t have it that easy as he faces the Alabama defensive juggernaut. Saban’s team are deserved #1 seed after coming through the ridiculously tough SEC west. QB Blake Sims has been workmanlike but has got the job done. He also has an absolute stud in WR Amari Cooper who looks a lock to be a top 5 pick in the draft and the Tide also have an incredible one-two punch at RB with Derrick Henry and TY Yeldon. They should have too much for the Big 10 champs.

One glimmer of hope for the Buckeyes might be the poor form of the other SEC teams in bowl games. Mississippi were hammered 42-3 by TCU while Miss State were convincing losers 49-34 to Georgia Tech while LSU lost to Notre Dame on the last kick of the game.

The games are live on ESPN starting at 10 o’clock.

Fuck Alabama and that utter cunt Harvey Updyke

War Eagles!

Baylor v Michigan State 14-14 after 1Q.

Another sec bowl loss. Is it time to wonder about Alabama now or are they that far above in the sec?

Any games on later, mates?

The play offs are on tonight. First game is Oregon V Florida State on ESPN at 10 o’clock.

Unreal.

Some finish to this game! I’m on the unders at 79.5 points so don’t want any more scores!

Unlucky. Looks like it was a wild game.

Crazy. Baylor was up by 20 or so at one stage. Just completely collapsed in 4th

I was on over 68.5 and Baylor -3 double. Arg!

Good stand from FSU there. Oregon are trying to steamroller them.
