My ratings: 3/5, 6/10, 62/100.
Overly long at 63 minutes / 16 songs.
A few songs have been done before on other albums…Louise (Catholic Church), Landlord in the Government (housing, politics) but he’s a protest singer & sometimes the reasons to protest persist.
It’s the ones where he shows his softer & poetic side that are the highlights.
Factory John is outstanding. The title track & Push Through The Blue too.
Hard to credit it’s 21 years since the greatest Irish album of all time, Seize The Day.
