New Year Honours

Please discuss the recipients and surprising snubs in this thread please.

Personally, I’m delighted to see dwarfism represented by Eleanor Simmonds getting an MBE.

Saw a Formula One car driving around some indoor hall earlier on on Sky News with no sound on, can only suspect that shandy car driver has got something as a sop for not winning the BBC gig. Load of me bollix

Suprised that Fergie didnt get another knighthood. Sir Sir Alex.

I wonder if there’s a racist element behind Moira Stewart not being included again this year?

Good to see Peter Jones from the Dragons Den be rewarded on this years list.

No thanks, your honour . . .

Some surprising names in that list. A supposed champion of the British Empire, Rudyard Kipling, for one.

I wonder what prompted people who initially declined honours to subsequently accept them.

One person giving out awards and having to bow before her and address her as ‘Your Majesty’.

We are all supposed to be equal remember.

And the Brits are perfectly happy with this set-up.

Sick really.

Congratulations to Irish golfing legend Graeme McDowell on his well deserved honour.

Phil Taylor had his taken off him

I didnt know Americans got these awards.

Also kudos to Howard Webb finally getting something. Thanks for the penalty that turned the United Spurs game back in 2009 back in Uniteds favour when United were trailing 2.0.

Lester had his taken off him after he was sent to languish at one of Her Majesty’s prisons for tax evasion. Carson will never get one because he sided with Major Dick Hern when Her Majesty decided to evict her physically handicapped trainer from West Isley. I believe HRA Cecil will never get one as his dog once bit Her Majesty during a visit to Warren Place. His visit to Brighton prostitutes would perhaps also tell against him in the prudish world of the Privy Council.

Phil the Power had his MBE revoked after his “back of the van” exploits. Poor old Sid only got a few months out of sucking up to Phil Taylor MBE.

Any chance we can take that Sports award back from Gmac now? :frowning:

Fair play to that golf commentator Peter Allis for refusing a CuntBE or some sort of thing,he always struck me as a pompous British cunt and he was an alright sort all along.Gos to show you never can tell…

what did taylor do?

Were any reasons given for rejecting these honours? If say the President wanted to give me a Gaisce award for services to Greyhound Racing I’d certainly accept it.

He DIDN’T (  ) sexually assault a couple of young ones in the back of his camper van.

Congratulations to Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke for their well deserved honours.

Isn’t Darren Clarke Irish?
