New Years Eve... The boredom

I rang in the new year in Ryan’s of Camden Street @peddlerscross. A gas spot. The bouncer initially told us they were full before noticing we might be white middle class muldoon’s (cc Conor Meyler) and asking what county we were from. When he heard Wexford he ushered us in and told us not to break up the place.

As it turned out there was plenty of space to manoeuvre inside. The Kerry v Donegal football final took centre stage on the big screens before the new year rang in with Julia Roberts and Notting Hill on screen while you’d be topping up on drinks. During the night we encountered a German couple who’d flown in to Ireland to celebrate NYE before flying out again at half 6, a Tipp fella and his brother who’d spent 12 years working in mines in Australia and looked like he’d come straight out of one given his jumper was covered in dirt and an American woman who hit on me and claimed that she had been flashed by a fella while walking past an IPAS centre. My initial impression that she was strongly anti-immigration proved correct. I politely declined her advances but she’d make a great partner for a few fellas on here. Only my second time in Ryan’s as I didn’t do my college years in Dublin but I’d highly recommend. At midnight a heap of Tipp coloured balloons were released from the roof.
