Brilliant.

God bless Ryan’s of Camden Street and God bless Tipperary.

Peter and Brenda are great people.

Its very reassuring for us Tipperary folk to have so many places in the heart of Dublin that feel like home.

What is it about tipp that has made ye so special do you think? Ye are basically a midland county and the rest of them are all pure identity free zones

Is Peter not a Leitrim man?

Identity is a great word alright. Tipp people definitely have it. Its been handed down through generations from the founding of the GAA, to the War of Independence through to the success in hurling for the first 80 years of the Association, Tipperary people have never felt inferior to anyone. Bloody Sunday and the death of Sean Treacy on Talbot Street all feed into the pride of place that remains very strong.

In the 1960’s then a load of Tipp young lads went up to Dublin working as 16/17 year olds and made it big on the pub scene that has carried through to this day.

There is a total self assurance about Tipp people when in Dublin or ‘going up the M7’ as it was put in that Blue to Gold documentary last week. Tipp people just tend to know what to do and where to be when up there.

They’ll surely evolve further in time you would think…

Id be more interested to know though WHY the gaa was founded there and they had such involvement on the WOI when the other midland counties are likes of Longford Westmeath laois and Carlow.

Ryan’s has never been the same since the redevelopment.

I was in there the 27th. Peter was delighted.

Neither Carlow nor Tipp are in the midlands. Parts of Carlow are half an hour away from the coast like.

Id class counties that don’t touch the sea as the Midlands. Sure very few counties in Ireland are much more than an hour from the sea. Everything about Carlow is pure midlands. From the accent to the general non descriptness

Are you purposely playing the dimwit here? Thurles is central location and it was home to one of the founders.

That’s it.

By an accident of geography the land is better than everywhere else and by an accident of nature the people are just better than everybody else.

Tipp is also the only county in Munster nobody goes on their holidays to.
