The timing of this from Rodgers is incredible. Fair enough he might not have got on with the board but stick it out for a couple of more months and then walk away ffs. He has really dropped Celtic in it here.
He’s a Celtic fan, in the middle of a title run-in, very much liked by the supporters - but then he walks out at such a crucial part of a season… And it’s not Arsenal or United he’s going to - it’s Leicester City. Surely, at worst, similar jobs will be available in the summer.
It’s one thing for a Johnny Foreigner to do one who mightn’t be immersed in the culture of a club but an Irish man to walk out now just smacks of crassness.
Now I’m beginning to understand why the ex wife fought for half of everything.

Rodgers leaves a club who’s all time record signing this season was £8m to the 14th richest club in the world, champions a few years ago, CL quarterfinalists the year after playing in the richest league in the world, and lads around here are wondering why

I think a manager familiar with the Bundesliga is probably a good choice for Celtic. Developing young players and integrating them with the squad while potentially flipping them on for a profit in the future is what the Celtic model is now and a manager has to be comfortable in these confines.
I think David Wagner could be a decent shout in this regard.

A massive salary helped him with that massive favour. He seems like a bit of an asshole who gets outwitted in Europe and doesn’t know how to turn around games once he goes behind. Glad to be rid of the snake.
