Next Celtic Manager

Could the new Champions League proposals put forward by Juventus whereby 1/3 of club games will be European be a major game changer for Celtic?

There is also a proposal that Champions League clubs wouldn’t be allowed buy from one another which might mitigate the superclubs stockpiling for a few years before they get around it.

Surely Stevie G’s teddy bears romping away with the league will make this competition, leaving the brave Celts clear for another nine in a row.

These proposals get bandied about but hard to see change . That said the CL is certainly losing much of its lustre and needs a bit of rejuvenation.

Time will tell .

So your example of a successful model is Abrambovich. Slightly unrealistic.

The Abramovich model is the standard type of model in football these days - particularly British football.

Look at the huge amount of money clubs like Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, West Ham, Everton, Sheffield United, Stoke, Bournemouth etc have had invested in them by their wealthy benefactors.

Desmond should be putting £50m into the club this summer to rebuild, to get a manager in that fits the vision and has a formidable track record, that can retain key players like Edouard and Ajer or replace them with players of a similar standard and add 4/5 quality players to the squad.

We have the resources and capabilities to do that and denying that we have is clear evidence of your agenda to defend the indefensible. We have at least 100k pw going off the wage bill this summer, we have £20m cash reserves sitting in a bank, we have little to no debt and we have a billionaire.

That sort of investment in the first team is long, long overdue but you are arguing against it for some bizarre reason.

Kennedy is 4/1 on BetVictor for the job.

4/1 on, or 4/1?

The problem is, we don’t have a billionaire, he has us.

That’s the issue of course.

Rocko likes to put a different spin on it. It’s amazing how he always seems to take the company line on things and not countenance that we can try and do things better and differently.

It’s about time Desmond made a serious investment in this club and hopefully the fans will unit and force action this summer.

The fans only avenue is to boycott season ticket and matchday ticket sales en masse. I can’t see this holding.

It’s the only avenue to force this.

Desmond is a cancer on Celtic.

Your solution to everything is just to spend money that won’t get repaid.

The silly billionaires investing in the EPL are investing in clubs in the wealthiest league in the world, with massive guaranteed income and are expecting to make money from their investment.

Asking someone to pump £50 million into Celtic (a plc) is asking them to just give £50m away. And that’s not why people buy football clubs. Except in your head.

Repaid???

How much money have we lost the past three seasons by failing to qualify for the CL?

Why are you so concerned about Desmond’s personal rather than the progression of Celtic as a football club?

Do you think tying Ajer and Edouard down actually loses us money?

What you are saying is idiotic, it has no element of sensible or rational discussion to it.

It’s why some do. Others because they want the kudos, others because they are bored, others are underpant sniffers. It’s usually a combination of all four.
Abramovich was unusual in that he was trying (and succeeding) to buy a high profile in London.
Recent takeovers such as manyoo and Burnley have been naked opportunism alright.

This is just crazy talk. There are utterly countless examples of football owners investing huge amounts of money into clubs they never get back.

What’s the agenda here Rocko? You are pedaling complete and utter lies here.

There are fools who get carried away. Desmond is no fool.

We need a billionaire with a passion for the club and the game who wants success and prestige for his club.

Not some greedy billionaire who wants to use it to top up his personal wealth

It’s less than 24 hours since you proclaimed the Celtic Trust as the solution. Now you think it’s an emotional billionaire. You’re jumping from one end of the spectrum to the other and I’m not sure you even notice.

We do, but it ain’t happening.

The Celtic Trust is absolutely vital in forcing Desmond out.

We then need a wealthy benefactor or a consortium to step up in a sizable shareholder.

Your agenda is very strange here. There is no logic to what you are saying and you seem to be very emotionally attached to any criticism of the board and owners - you are in direct conflict to the consensus of the fanbase here. You have been made look like an idiot this season when you staunchly defended them last season and are still going out to bat for them.

It’s extremely stupid and very strange. You won’t really find any Celtic fan backing you up here.
