Michael McCarthy, Sean Sherlock and Alan Kelly all thrown their hat into the ring for Deputy Leader.
Alan Kelly’s addition is seemingly going to ignite the country. Deputy Ann Phelan has called Burton/Kelly - ‘the dream ticket’.

They do need youth at the helm in some way, Kelly is pretty highly thought of apparently. Plus he would help sway votes for Joan outside the pale.
Liam Sheedy will be out canvassing soon.
He comes across as someone who thinks particularly highly of himself. He’d have a big PR machine behind him. Kelly’s older brother Declan was shaping up as a big mover and shaker in the Irish/America community in New York for a while. He was variously been described as the new Tony O’Reilly of his generation, the next young heavyweight in Irish/America circles. He has a PR firm in Manhattan and Hillary Clinton appointed him as some sort of Ireland envoy. Phoenix were reporting a few months back though that there was a falling out with the Clinton’s and that he was now something of a persona non grata in those Irish/American circles.
When Alan ran for the Europeans in 2009, it had the look of a campaign in which no expense was spared. Even fellow Portroe native Liam Sheedy was wishing him well for Europe as he was interviewed in Thurles following a Tipperary Munster Championship win over Cork.
Labour polled 8% in Tipperary and took just one seat of 40 in the whole county scrapping the 8th and last seat in Nenagh. Its a unified 5 seater in the next general election. Fianna Fail & Fine Gael will get at least 1 apiece and currently between North and South, there’s 3 high profile sitting independents - Lowry, Mattie McGrath and Seamus Healy. If Sinn Fein replicate their share of the vote in a General Election, they’ll be close to getting a seat as well.
If Mike Lowry shit in his hat and put up for election it would win a seat in Tipp.
Result imminent. A landslide for Alan Kelly presumably.
Hopefully , we worked this one hard.
