NFL Fantasy Football 2011

That’s good thinking, I’d definitely consider removing return yards for the D and increase other points.
[]3 points for a sack
[
]3 points for an INT
[]2 points for Fumble Recovery
[
]1 point for a Forced fumble
Seems like a solution.

As it stands it is:
[]Sacks: 1 point
[
]Interceptions: 2 points
[]Fumbles Recovered: 2 points
[
]Safeties: 2 points
[]Touchdowns: 6 points
[
]Kickoff and Punt Return Yards: 1 point per 25 yards
[]Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns: 6 points
[
]Points Allowed 0: 10 points
[]Points Allowed 1-6: 7 points
[
]Points Allowed 7-13: 4 points
[]Points Allowed 14-20: 1 point
[
]Points Allowed 21-27: 0 points
[]Points Allowed 28-34: -1 point
[
]Points Allowed 35+: -4 points
Yeah, get rid of the
[]Kickoff and Punt Return Yards:
1 point per 25 yards
[
]Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns:
6 points
and replace it with
[]3 points for a sack
[
]3 points for an INT
[]2 points for Fumble Recovery
[
]1 point for a Forced fumble
Points for blocked kicks? Fairly rare occurence (Discounting the Raiders v Chargers game last year) that surely deserves some kudos.

Here is what I would suggest:
[]Sacks: 2 point
[
]Interceptions: 3 points
[]Fumbles Recovered: 3 points
[
]Safeties: 2 points
[]Touchdowns: 6 points
[
]Kickoff and Punt Return Yards: 1 point per 25 yards
[]Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns: 6 points
[
]Points Allowed 0: 15 points
[]Points Allowed 1-6: 10 points
[
]Points Allowed 7-13: 6 points
[]Points Allowed 14-20: 3 point
[
]Points Allowed 21-27: 0 points
[]Points Allowed 28-34: -3 point
[
]Points Allowed 35+: -6 points
I wouldn’t go to 3 points for sacks. We should give more for a turnover than a sack.
Points scoring should be as it is in real life so safeties remain 2 and touchdowns stay 6.

Is there a provision for forced fumble?
Points allowed I’m adding more for low scores and deducting more for a heavy concession.

Here is a table of what teams did in 2010 with regard to sacks, interceptions etc…

3 seems like too many for a sack alright. No way that should be worth the same as a 30 yard run or a FG. 2 sounds better.

Agreed. Although sacks aren’t half as common as you’d think.

This is getting very complicated.

Sacks are defensive players TDs as far as I’m concerned, and Woody is right, sacks arent that common really. A lot of D hate on this forum.

Forced fumbles are even rarer. This is intriguing stuff.

That would be fair enough if we had individual defensive players (which we don’t and which I’m not advocating). They may be like a touchdown as an individual achievement but awarding them to the whole defence would result in too many points given out for them I think.

You have to take into account the limited number of defensive teams there are too. If they become too valuable then people will just hold onto one on their bench denying others the chance to pick them up. That’s understandable with individual players where there is a wide pool to choose from but it’s too restrictive for defensive teams.

I would hope with the reduction in bench size that people holding onto DST’s wouldn’t be an option. I think I’ll make it 2 points for a sack having reviewed the stats more.
[]Sacks 2 points
[
]INT 3 points
[]Fumbles recovered 2 points
[
]Fumbles forced 1 point
[]Safeties 2 points
[
]Touchdowns 6 points
That may be for 1 PPR Flano. Ours is 0.5 PPR
I’d imagine it is. Who would have Ray Rice #1 otherwise.

Ah it probably is but it’s a better indication than a normal Top Player list. Is there a PPR list for a league that gives 0.5 PPR?

Not sure. There should be a site with options at the top which have historical data and projections and it gives you the points based on the league rules you pick.

I think the projections on our league on NFL.com react to the rules of the league. So that is about the best you will find.

Really? Where?

I was looking at that alright, don’t see any PPR projections though.

Take the number of receptions and multiply them by 0.5

It’s factored into the total score.
