NHL Division 1B - The Wexford Procession

It’s all part of the game. Real hurling men understand that.

Welcome to senior hurling John Kiely!!

John has a young team and he’s doing a great job taking the heat off them and letting them progress. We are on course to lift Liam this year.

@glasagusban has disgraced himself here moaning about a league game played in February

Ah he is upset the way the Na Pairsaig boys were treated below in Wexford. Young Peter Casey and Dempsey in particular…

Apparently only tae and Maxwell house on offer. No Lattes available at half time.

Liam who?

Aherne.

He is going to be lifted up and fucked off a cliff.

That’s the answer I was hoping for. He was doing more crying about Kirwan on twitter last night

Gimp.

If he thinks it’s going to get easier for lads like Peter Casey as the season goes on he’s deluded. The young lads now know what’s expected of them…sink or swim.

There was Lattes available chief. I bought one at half time

Queer.

Some lad pissed in a cup of milk and handed it out to him.

I still think Davy’s tactics regardless of who he manages makes heroes of opposition full back line.

Refereeing decisions go for and against you. It’s a bit unseemly to be whinging like Liam Aherne, it’s over. There was still 15 or 20 minutes left after the non penalty to win the game. Kirwan was useless but he screwed Wexford on a few occasions too.

There was five u-21’s starting yesterday. A few more are only a year or two out of that grade. I’m actually not too despondent about not getting promoted.

Think we are at the same stage as Waterford were when Derek McGrath took over Waterford. Potentially very good crop of youngsters. With a management who actually seem to know what they are doing.

Short term pain like yesterday for long term gain a few years down the line.

Zing.

A minute before half time Eoin Moore bends down to pick the ball, gets a dunt in the back, no foul given, Limerick score to go 10-4 up. Next/last attack ball down to same corner, Peter Casey bends down to pick up, gets a dunt in the back, no foul given. Half time whistle blown and Kiely goes mental. In and onto the pitch to harangue Kirwan as he was walking off.

Some Limerick people were only seeing what they wanted to see through their green tinted glasses. Less referee bashing and more critical self analysis required. The portents don’t look good though with the manager’s temperament and a cheerleading local media looking to blame every external factor possible.

All valid points.

Going by green tinted commentary it sounded like Casey was blatantly fouled about 4 times in the first half without getting a free? Perhaps this is what wound John up rather than the isolated incident you outlined.

Referees are human beings who can make mistakes.

Roaring and shouting at them at HT isn’t going to get you much 50/50 calls in the second half. Moaning like a prissy little bitch to the National Media afterwards is also a good way of getting the Referee fraternity on your side.

The Teacher is obviously well used to getting his way but Senior Hurling only makes allowances to men like Brian Cody.

I think a section of the Limerick crowd think he should get frees because he’s a small lad and a young lad.

Kiely going on about Limerick getting no frees inside the 65 yet they scored about 3 close range frees and Byrnes drove one wide from 35 yards when it was 13-12.

Hopefully Jerome will have an honest assessment of the game in The Leader.

Just put the ball over the bar or into the back of the net and let no more be said about it.
