That pretty much sums up my attitude.
Interesting re the Darkness into Light run this morning. Fair play to all involved. However there does seem to be a certain social cachet involved for some in completing these things.
Couple of young wans I know asked if I was taking part. When I said wouldn’t be around could see the look of disapproval on their faces. Same women however never get involved in local clubs or charities, spending most of free time running or in gym.
did they post a pic on facebook showing how great they are?

Is it not quite likely that he is actually helping people? The fact that this event is being held, and people are attending, not sure that would have happened ten years ago. It’s grand to be cynical about it and acknowlwdge that some people will make a killing out of it but there is fuck all capacity in public system to support people with mental health issues. If this makes people feel less stigmatised or gives them some bit of hope is it not worth it happening?
BTW- I’d say no doubt but the lad with the plastic bag on his head is by a distance the smartest person on that stage!
