Dreadful list. Like something Q Magazine would come up with.
A load of oul bollox.
Teardrop by Massive Attack is a glaring omission there.
Half of those songs could easily be on a list of the worst songs of the 90s- The first thing that hits you is Coolio
Corner cunting shop
Missy piss flaps Elliot:rolleyes:
TLC, Elliot Smith, Lemon Heads:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Farmer and his cunting NME
You leave TLC alone you cunt.
RIP Left eye
Nothing on the list from one of the best albums of the decade says it all. Automatic for the People
[Or maybe there is I just didn’t spot it]

Its funny how this list is simultaneously being criticised for being too cool, and not cool enough.
I love lists.

Cool?
What are you banging on about?
I read NME every week from 95-00 (as well as collecting as many older issues as I could afford from that record shop that was opposite Bray train station) and there’s no way the writers from that time would choose those 100 tunes. Not a fucking hope. Steven Wells must be spinning in his grave. And Johnny Cigarettes, if he were dead.
That’s the problem in this day and age- Mags like NME are now dominated by hipsters trying to stay ahead of the curve and latest fashion trends, they know fuck all about music. While instant gratification mediums like youtube/social media have a host of advantages, they have also killed off the joy of music in some ways. The excitiment when a kid of waiting to hear your bands on radio/totp/beat box etc added to the experience. And reading mags and interviews was how you learned about your favourite bands and their influences etc etc- It’s all flash in the pan stuff now- All fur coats, no knickers. Them kids today!!
Pulp - Common People
A good party song undoubtedly but song of the 90s? I think not.
Nice levels of seething on this thread.
Bush - Swallowed not there either
Are lads on here genuinely surprised that NME have not published their personal 100 top songs of the 90s?
Haven’t heard that tune in years-I’ll download that album tonight.
I’m not surprised at all, for the same reasons why I stopped buying the NME about 12 or 13 years ago.
nothing from the Pet Shop Boys?
shit list
