November Rugby Internationals (On the sesh with the Goys)

Fair point, when you’re your height farmer, jumping in a lineout isn’t something that is likely to impress you.
Good jumper, and a fair man at the rucks and tackling. I think Bandage was having a funny there about O Connell mind you.

Anyone else like to have seen Bob for this one? His bulk might have been suited to the Saffers, but I admit it would have been a very leftfield choice.
No, I wasn’t. I’ll be looking for O’Connell to put in a real shift in the tight exchanges on Saturday rather than standing as second receiver for most of the game and playing the ruck inspector roll yet again.

are they are being lifted by lads more than any real jumping on their part??..
I would point more to the inclusion of Donncha O’Callaghan ahead of Leo Cullen.

What onn earth has O’Callaghan ever dine for Ireland to constantly justify a starting place?
Jesus not again. You’ll be badly shown up with this stuff. He’s an excellent line out opperator, which is a massive part (most of the time) of Irelands game. You may not have noticed this farmer, but O’ Connell starts the backline moves, O’ Callaghan starts drives and rolling mauls from lineouts. Cullen has over his career lost a fair share of ball in forwards drives. This is just one aspect of where Cullen is inferior. O’ Callaghan is also the stronger man by all accounts, even if their physical stats would be similar on paper.

Stringer is there to offer quick ball out wide, as SA leave space out wide, and defend in tight.

Well said Kev. I think if Ireland can dominate the line outs and gain primary possesion at the breakdowns then we should have a right cut off the racists.

Bit of both in most cases in rugby, but with John Hayes your really being lifted, like a bale of hay.

Someone shoves a fork up your hole and puts you on a trailer?
Jeesh!

I’d be disapointed if Ireland don’t win. I’ve noticed the lineout against Oz was really starting to motor, they were upsetting the huge Aussie guy no end. If you can get to the racists at lineout you give yourself a huge chance.

I laugh everytime i even see the word breakdown, its like a fella saying at half time in football “its all about the breaking ball lads”, we fucking know it is!!!

But your right, even 50-50 here and we’re in with a big shout, they are badly depleted it seems, even called off training yesterday.

Bandage taught me that one

Its all by hand out our way…the baling that is.

We could all learn a little about rugby from that man.

In fairness, Leo Cullen has dominated the Munster pairing in recent clashes between the premier Irish province and Munster.

the boks looked shattered against france and couldn’t match france’s hunger…they are at the end of a long year…Ireland should be in peak condition after aussie blowout…

I would have thought your immense rugby vision would have noticed that he was been helped in a huge way by Rocky and Heaslip last year, and Hines and Heaslip this year. They are supporting Cullen way better than before. The 2 Munster lads would tell you Hayes and wallace have a massive part in their own games.

Oh, I completely agree that the pack must function as a unit and the second rows are reliant on other individuals. But the indisputable fact is that individually and collectively the Leinster pack has dominated Munster in recent encounters and Leo Cullen’s exploits as pack leader have been crucial to putting Munster in their place.

Glad he has gone for Sexton. Think it will help Wallace too as O’Gara didn’t release him enough against South Africa though both had good games. Would certainly have stuck with Court on the bench as our scrum looks poor as it is

On the POC ad"drink Republic Of Irish milk" I find it cringeworthy. Could imagine the uproar on here and elsewhere if Ferris came out to support the Ulster Farmers or something.

Yes, sickeningly partitionist and one of the main reasons he’s despised by all right thinking individuals.

Whenever the commentators go on about the breakdown I get an image of the team stoping in their tracks and doing a dance-off.
Australia were better than us at the breakdown but to be fair Hayes can’t dance for Shit!
