Seamus Hickeyâs always good when heâs on it.
[QUOTE=âthedancingbaby, post: 953826, member: 48â]Game On is a far superior sports programme imo.

Game On is the Mrs. Brownâs Boys of radio sports shows.

And is still far superior to OTB
It would be one thing to have him on as a rugby football pundit but as co-presenter? He could shock us all and have an in-depth knowledge of GAA, soccer, horse-racing etc but I doubt it somehow.
Imagine him interviewing someone like Shane Curran or discussing the merits of the round-robin system in the Leinster senior hurling championship.
The Sunday Papers supplement tends to be excellent, and the recent disussion from Sam to the Summit was a very enjoyable listen. Anyone who believes it to be worthless doesnât remember much before it.
It is good at weekends. I think it is good overall and I tend to put it on if I am in the car.
OâDriscoll is a good idea from a ratings perspective - celebrity presenter. He may have some insights. I heard Horgan before with the old presenters and he was decent enough about other sports. Main issue with OâDriscoll is in a panel show if he takes over or if he plays it too safe so as not to offend anybody. Much as I dislike him somebody like OâGara would probably be more outspoken and better value as a presenter/co-panellist

Fair enough points. I also imagine Newstalk wanted to secure him quickly before the inevitable brain issues from multiple onfield concussions start to impact him. They might get a year or two out of him.
think o driscoll is too into his public image to really give any good insight âŚhe always plays it safeâŚi actually donât listen to OTB much anymore ⌠just donât rate Parkinson one bitâŚ
Bizarre from both parties-this wonât end well. Mark my words.
While joking, this is a very real concern youâd imagine. The way the rugby game treat their players is astonishing and all bets are off for this sport in the coming years.
He was the other night discussing the merits of Ian Madigan as an outside receiver.
He is a WUM and doesnât try to hide it. I can tolerate him. As said before though that Joe lad would give you a pain in the hole, takes him a week to get a sentence out.
The first of the âgolden generationâ on the Late Late Show in a wheelchair/suffering from Parkinsonâs will be the moment that rugby is given up entirely by its middle class lifeblood as a game they want their sons to play. it is already starting to happen and a lot of parents are open enough about taking kkids out of rugby at 11 or 12 before it gets serious and dangerous and seriously dangerous
He will be their rugby pundit on a Friday before the momentous games and probably be there off and on but there is no way OâDriscoll is going in there full time as a presenter for 40k a year. Replacing Horganâs role to an extent. Less air time for the other rugby pundits too unless this means they devote even more time to rugby because they have so many talking heads.
The rugby poster child in fact, he would be the one to drive the nail home youâd imagine alright. I like OâDriscoll, he seems like an honest genuine person generally free of the bullshit you come across (despite @thedancingbaby horror story). I honestly believe heâs been dreadfully treated by his sport, any player will want to play, he seems to have been patched up and rolled back onto the field time after time with little or no concern for his wellbeing. Rugby has a huge issue coming down the tracks to it, and its hard to see how it can avoid it. The case up in Ulster is one example, and the one regarding Kenny Nuzum could see the floodgates open.
who do you think itll be?
id say Andrew Trimble or Cian Healy
+1
only birds are into rogbee where I work, i was telling them about the lad from newcastle who got tackled and they all agreed that any parent who lets their child play any form of rogbee is a poor parent
why dont Oirish people shave?
That would make more sense. I would imagine the mixture of the other lads being slightly intimidated/awestruck by him and him not wanting to be controversial would ruin the show. And yes I understand he doesnât play a real sport, etc, etc
