Very poor game. Waterford should have been an awful lot closer.
Waterford with 5 defenders back on 2 Kilkenny forwards for the last 5 minutes as they landed clearances down on top of the spare men that had retreated into the Kilkenny half.
Not really after the second goal they never got closer than 5 points I believe. Even when they got it back to that with 10 left Kilkenny upped it a bit and Waterford couldget get the ball past the kilkenny 40 metre line. Kilkenny were poor by the standards they have set for themselves but they got the job done and for the most part were in control

Waterford should take plenty of encouragement from that. They aren’t at the stage where they could beat a team of Kilkenny’s calibre yet but a lot of their younger lads showed the right attitude today.
The wides they hit in the second half were shocking though Puke. Never put pressure on Kilkenny. If they had it would have made it a little more interesting. But we will never know.
