Just reading the local press and the Wexford minor hurling panel for the weekend match against Kilkenny is listed. I was struck by the brilliantly named Shem O’Hagan from Buffers Alley. It’s more like the name of a 75-year old Vietnam veteran from Boston who drinks himself into a stupor every day while playing cards in the pub.

The days of a Sham making it are long gone. Much like that Mossy chap who played for Munster a few years ago, you just wont make it as a Mossy anymore. Its all Jack, Simon, Tadhg, Con, etc. nowadays.

Should be a good game between Tipp & Waterford tonight. Some very good hurlers on both teams. Tipp warm favourites and rightly so having won last years’ championship. The Waterford team were a decent team at under 17/ minor. Beat Limerick above in Gaelic Ground in 2018. Came back from the dead the previous week against Tipp again in Gaelic Grounds. It would be a nice pick me up after Sunday.
