Official All Ireland Minor and U20 Hurling & Football Thread (Part 1)

Rory Furlong is Roanmore too. Think the father is Chairman of the Juvenile County Board in Waterford.

I know Neil, never knew of Stephen as a hurler of note with Roanmore

He is

I don’t think Roanmore have ever had a hurler of note.

Tipp are considerable favourites to win Munster. Cork were rubbish at this age group at Minor and have few of last year’s group eliglible.

Minor I feel means very little when you reach u20

What about the great Noelie Crowley? Kevin Cashman used to call him Gregory Peck for some reason. I think it was something to do with the way used to peck away at the sliotar while trying to get it into his hand.

If Cork are underdogs with bookies next week then I’ll have a nibble. Waterford were better side for majority of last night.

Cathal O Neill is the man to stop in Munster. By far and away the best hurler at this age group in the country.

CON is only one player though and may be used by Kiely yet.

He’s also not “on the age” and won’t be on the age until next year

I mean the under 20 age group so 2001-2003.

I suppose Crowley and Dela and to a lesser extent Eddie Nolan, I’d concede.

Fagan

What you think of that game last night ???

Thought we hung on well in the game and when we went ahead in extra time we should have seen it out but we made a stupid fucking mistake and gave the game back to Tipperary.

Cork underage has been a litany of snatching defeats from the jaws of victory over the years. Hopefully the All Ire success will give the players and management the big game experience to win tight games going forward. Minus your 2 best players is an ask but if Cork are back at underage they have to winning against a functional Tipp side.

Interesting to see if Limerick can push on ,from double Munster minor success, at this level and how quickly Daly, Fitzgerald and Kiely will be integrated into the Waterford senior side.

Lacked firepower ?? Some really good hurlers in defence there.

There was a small but very skilful lad from Rinn playing a few years ago for minors . Where is he now ??
