Terrible decision by the referee there.

Limerick will hammer Kilkenny

Some miss to get draw there from Wexford who were worth extra time imo.

The KK goal looked a bit poxy. Seemed like the defender hit the forwards hurley and it cause him to hit it in at the near post.

The Kilkenny man of the match oozing charisma as is the norm there

Poxy, it sure was. I actually thought the defender might have played it into the net but he just may have knocked the forward’s hurl onto the ball.

Everything about it including the building up looked decidedly deliberate in the replays shown.

Have they developed considerably since minor level?

Cathal O Neill was stellar for them that time and now daftly ineligible to play.

Massive growth

I think the players have continued to improve.

As minors, they underperformed on the day in that minor semi-final, I don’t think that game was necessarily a reflection of their true level. The players have continued to develop as you would expect over the past few years, exposure to adult club level and a few with the Limerick seniors has helped.

Obviously Cathal is gone, he’s a massive loss for sure. Shane O’Brien is now a marquee forward who wasn’t playing in 2019, Cian Scully at wing-back also. Chanley in goal was an outfield player in 2019, he’s been good and there are a few others who weren’t even involved.

I don’t know how much Kilkenny have developed, it’s hard to compare provinces without a reference point but from what I’ve been told by people in KK, some of the star players from 2019 haven’t kicked on the way you might hope.

But they’ll fancy their chances, given the history.

You’d imagine Limerick will win handy considering the long term trend of Munster teams hammering Leinster teams at this grade

An Old Firm final of Kilkenny v Limerick.

The format for that competition at minor was exhaustive. Both provincial winners went a month without a game into a semi final whilst Galway/Clare/KK played out at round robin for the 2 remaining spots ultimately with the provincial winners being knocked out at that stage. Haven’t followed any of the individuals closely enough to comment on development of KK players but seems given the results they have developed somewhat, collectively.

Leinster gaa need to do a round robin format in under 20 level to improve it as well IMHO.

Munster with a massive advantage with their format.

Goes with the minor as well, there’s dinosaurs in the organisation who don’t want Galway in at minor, still can’t get my head around that, even though they’re playing u20?

Leinster at under 20 could run 2 groups of 4.

Galway, KK, Wex, Dublin, Laois, Offaly plus two other counties who qualify from a preliminary round robin of development counties of Kildare, Antrim, Carlow…
