As feared, Offaly a bit slicker. Disappointing approach in opening half, maybe occasion got to them perhaps.

Some crowd there. I passed through the town about 6.15 and the place was buzzin.
There was MIke. Just after getting home from it. Game never really caught fire. A lot of nerves on show i think.

Superb win for Offaly.
Derek McGrath’s fingerprints all over the Laois team playing one forward against 3 full backs backs and keeping the sweeper in place when 6 points down with 5 mins left.
As has been said, Screeney at 15 was a joy to watch.
Will be interesting to see how Offaly go in the All Ireland semi v Clare or Galway
