Everything went long apart from the 2nd last kick out which the keeper tried to chip 30 yards out down the middle and it got intercepted by a Derry lad.
Losing 3 on the bounce and getting to an All Ireland final is arguably the least Galway occurrance ever on the other hand
Not as long as it should have with that gale. He wasnāt giving it full Welly. Was trying to place it longish.
Think Mayo will beat Kerry so probably be Galway v Mayo for a 3rd time in the final. And Mayo won the first two games fairly comfortably.
That was very enjoyable stuff, some lovely stylish forward play by Galway and manly defending. Monaghans first of 3 points half way through the 2nd half was a combination of both, outstanding passage of play. Looks like a reasonable case to be made for Leitrim being the 3rd best minor team in the country this year.
Derry manager came across very well there.
Was Glynn the manager involved with under 21 teams in the past? Rings a bell with me
No that was Donal OāFatharta. He was over the minors when they got to a few All-Ireland finals. Over the U-20ās now. Won the All-Ireland with them a couple years ago. Think this is Glynnās 3rd year over the minors. Didnāt do much with them the first two years.
Thanks. It was Mulholland I was mixing him up with. They look a bit alike in my eyes.
Mayo beat Kerry by 2
A masterclass in refereeing from Seamus, even found the time to send off the Mayo coach who was coaching their goalkeeper through the game
Mayo vs Galway confirmed for The Hyde on 8th July
Sounds like Nowlan Park could be absolute carnage on Sunday with the ticket situation.
Why isnāt it a curtain raiser for one of the senior semi finals ?
Gaa wont allow kids (U 17ās) to play in front of large crowds and experience undue pressureā¦
GAA need to address this situation and revert back to the 18 and 21 age groups.
There would actually be far less pressure in a half full Croke Park than a rammed Nowlan Park
as it transpires itās the case, but as was proposed for the semis when the clare and galway minors were supposed to play in front of their senior teams then they would of had extra pressure
Itās going to be the game of the Year
Iāve seen a lot of people give out about this, but this is going to be way better. 27,000 sellout in Nowlan Park, itāll be a serious occasion. Way better than Croke Park gradually filling up with supporters who donāt have teams involved.
I donāt mind minor games before if both teams are involved in the senior game, but a sellout smaller venue is much better for all involved for a game like this. Thereāll be a cracking atmosphere which will lend itself to an excellent game, I think.
Thats what youād want!
The memory of this occasion will be a lifetime one for those young lads, regardless of the result.
Lucky feickers to get to experience it they are.(Even if they wont realise it at the time)
