Under 17âs shouldnât even be shown on telly IMHO. Under 18 possibly. No other amateur sport would get that much attendance to watch an under 17 game.
It was pretty funny in fairness. All packed in behind the goals only for it to be stolen in front of their very eyes. Iâm from Limerick but itâs beautiful to see a daylight robbery like that in any sport. Itâs what makes sport so great, especially if the unfortunate team are the underdogs
Offaly did it to Limerick and Kerry so what goes around comes around but tough on those young lads. As someone mentioned already they might be better off losing that in the long run. Awful decision not to award a free out and the ref right beside it.
That young tipp lad just threw the hurl. Doubt he meant to hit him in the head. If he did it was some shot.
Similar happened towards the end of the 2010 All-Ireland hurling final. A Kilkenny defender threw the hurl at Lar Corbett in vain. No card that day I think.
It was a trampish act my friend. I didnt call him a scumbag though. He fired a hurl at a lads head. He got his punishment and had they lost heâd have suffered plenty.
As it turns out, you have lads here now lauding him for doing so.
I wasnât referring to you tbh, wasnât a very nice or
clever thing to do, he got his punishment.
Certainly not an action to be laudedâŚ
Something doesnât sit right with me when you see fans jeering a 16 year old for hitting a wide or the massive cheer that went up when the red card was shown. Just my opinion.
I dont think anyone from Tipp is getting carried away with this win. Its nice to win but they are only TYâs really. Itâll be unreal if it goes back to Under 18 next year and these two teams along with Clare and Galway can build up a rivalry.
I was telling my good e-pal @Malarkey a few weeks ago that thereâs a tsunami of snipers in Cooper Helmets on the way in Tipp and we saw the start of that with this team.
Iâm not sure if Woodlock will stay on as manager at this grade, but if not its important a good appointment is made.
The young fella made a bad call and got his punishment in the red.
Itâs a pity referees didnât act as strongly on the IC scene, it would be a deterrent to give a straight for throwing the hurl regardless of making contact with the opponent.
The Offaly lad was lucky not to be seriously injured
The Offaly forward missed an open goal while ref was still playing advantage too. That was the game there. Tipp didnât even hurl that well to win the last ten mins 1-7 to 3
