Official All Ireland Minor and U20 Hurling & Football Thread (Part 1)

It’s still there but it’s only for a black card offence. If Croke Park have any cop on they will make sure the Tipp lad gets a long suspension because that type of stuff can’t be seen to be rewarded.

Thanks.

Have there been any black cards in the hurking championship?

None. It’s a stupid fucking football rule, so the hurling purists have decided to ignore it.

Graham Mul was literally rugby tackled yesterday going for goal and nothing, safe to say it’s completely gone out the window.

It still only takes one attention seeking James Owens type (say, James Owens, for example) to give one out of the blue in a big game

Between Owens and Barrett, a pair of cunts.

Not a foul according to some clown here.

Some win for Tipp yesterday. Even at minor level it’s a 20 man game and Offaly had 16. It was striking in the half time puckaround the difference in the standard of both set of subs.

The red card was a huge moment for Tipp, that goes in then it’s game over.

Offaly are doing a lot of cribbing online but they only have themselves to blame. They left O Farrell free and made errors.

On the goal at the end, the supposed free the Biffos are crying about was marginal at best and it came after they got the benefit on a number of other frees. It definitely wasn’t a Johnny Murphy doing like we have been subjected to.

Paddy Mc is the most talented player on that Tipp panel and dragged Tipp back into it but his goal at the end was incredible.

It will be interesting to see both panels develop. Offaly need the players more and you could see Ravenhill going straight to senior. Screeney could be a potential star although size may be an issue against the Limerick gym bunnies of this world. Other than that, 5, 8 and 13 looked the pick. As @Cheasty said the hurt might be better in the long term.

Tipp arguably have more players capable of making it in the next half decade. We will enjoy yesterday for the week ahead

Mate it’s a glorified Arrabawn Co-Op tournament. It only captured the imagination this year because of Offaly’s prominence

6 for Offally was excellent

Grand bit of cut to him too I thought

When a man is drowning, he will reach for any raft.

I’d agree but it’s still an All Ireland won in the most dramatic of circumstances. I think it’s nice to enjoy the win after a terrible year for us.

It’s positive we have something coming but Offaly, Laois, Galway and Clare will feel the same.

I would agree that under 17 is too young for minor. The competitions from 2018-2021 had been poor. I felt the standard this year was a step up from other years with a lot of good games.

The story I heard at the weekend is that it is changing back to under 18 next year so Offaly might get their minor title yet.

I thought under 19 is what is being proposed

for the winning goal, the Offaly defender who went to catch it will have a regret or two, it may have been a better option to just bat the fuck out of it!

Serious physicality and skill in that game for 16 & 17 year olds,
A few of the TFK fathers calling a child scum/trampish over an incident in a hurling match would want to have a look at themselves as well.

If Offaly can put together a fine minor team without Birr and Banagher contributing, they would be a much stronger force if these towns got their house in order. surely Birr and Banagher wont stay down in the dumps for ever

I don’t believe anyone was calling him that but his action/to throw the hurley at another lad’s head was terrible.

I wasn’t impressed with him throwing the hurley and wouldn’t condone it. I doubt he meant to hit him in the head with it.
Was a silly thing to do but referring to a team of kids as scum and trampish is a bit sad really.

Id agree with all that.
