That was a wonderful Clare performance, they have done this at times in matches over the last two years but to deliver that performance in a final despite conceding early goals was great to see.

Excellent performances all over the field and a ball of lads off the bench driving it on. Way too much hurling and attitude for Galway. Thought Matthew O’Halloran was excellent, especially going back in full back second half. He had his auld lads doggedness but about 10 times the hurling - whether he had the speed of foot for senior is other thing but his size and attitude will see him on the senior panel I have no doubt.

Left Thurles at half time en route back to east Clare - after watching this Cork team full of hurling and energy in Munster, I’d be fairly annoyed to see them going out like butchers against an Offaly side they are bigger and more mobile than and have more depth which will tell on a day like today without resorting to the cheap shots - there is no need for it. Eoin Downey gave about 5 late hits after the ball way played - another pound shop hard man like his brother. Disappointed to see a side be so cynical at this level, especially when they have the talent to burn.

I’d hope they most certainly don’t. Cork have acted like tramps which isn’t uncommon, Offaly are a county who have always carried themselves with dignity on the playing fields generally.
